This is from the Fox bimbos, but there is no doubt the pressure is building on Benji.
A few of the better players said that they came here because of Benji, what happens if he leaves?
Practically every player says this Tm but it does give them an out if there's clauses in the contract that has Benji in it.

I know contracts don't seem to mean much, but the major one (for me) would be Luai, who has the option to leave at the end of next season.
Does he hang around if we are not competitive?
I said earlier, that IMO, we have a good top 17 on paper, which haven't played together for a while now, injuries have crueled us, but that happens in every club, I think we have some decent depth (can always use more), that just isn't being given a go, I understand that, if we are winning, but obviously, we are not.
To me, it's exactly what Sheens used to do, pick and stick till you sink.
I don't think the two kids have screwed us, I believe we have retained a much better option at 9 and will eventually end up with a better halves combination (if Luai stays), but it's all about winning and we ain't.
People will say, we are planning for next year, we have been saying that for over a decade. Though, I do think we are on the right track finally.
So sacking Benji has its problems with players (loyal to him) but I would also think not too many top coaches would want to come here anyway.
So a long winded way of saying that I think Benji needs another year, but needs to have a conversation with somebody.
What happens after that, is anyones guess.

Agree mate. Luai is only going to get better. He has more upside and so does Api. We can build our side around Api, Luai and May.

As far as rebuilds go we do it all wrong. My previous post explains.

In short we should be utilising the remaining games as trials. Play people on form until we get the best formula. We then add to it as necessary eg KPP and hopefully a couple of other top signings. It's useless experimenting or debuting players when the season starts.

Any plan that was devised by Phil rothfield while 3 sheets to the wind, at a lunch we paid for is a bad idea.

Any plan implemented by the fedora f**ktard and pascoe is also a very bad plan

Who would we get instead? I vote for emphysema bob across the road from my place. He's a devotee of Tommy r and lives his life accordingly. He has no NRL experience but did coach the umina bunnies for a stint in the mid 90s. At least the pressers would be fun and no one could say he creates a toxic environment. Except for the winnie reds that is

He'd do it for a carton of winnie reds and 5 slabs of VB a week. Even if it didn't work out the break up fee would be cheap
Heck of a lot better bank for our buck compared to the majority of imbecilic out of their depth coaches this train wreck of a club has employed since its inception plus during Bobs reign team morale would be at its highest.
Just reminiscing what a fabulous all rounder Tommy R was on & off the field. As a Balmain fan he was always my favourite non -tiger.Unfortunately society has become so woke & the game sanitised that the peerless Tommy R would likely have been banished from todays game

Benji certainly loves debuting young blokes early which only adds to the problem of these self entitled lads wanting big dollars before they're men.
If we are to debut him this year I'd rather wait until at least rd 24 home game to debut Makasini. Those last few games plus preseason should be enough to prepare him ok. In the meantime work really hard on speed and fitness.
Has anyone got any thoughts on this?

This is the 1st time I’ve seen Makasini’s name listed in the lower grades since the end of junior cup reps.Extremely interested to see how the kid handles nsw cup.We really need him & May to swiftly excell & be banging on NRL’s door.Ive no doubt May will be back playing in NRL this month

I think we need to play Makasini if he proves himself as being a first grade player. So he should prove himself in reserve grade first. I think the same thing about May.

I taking a wait and see approach but I'd love to see him have the same impact on our outside backs as Terrell has had on our forwards.
So that's a yes?
I think a taste in a couple of games would be ok. My fear is that their development is fast tracked too often when they should be playing each week in reserves, building up, toughening up and learning how the men do things at a better level than pathways.

I/we must be masochists supporting this team.
A lot of forumers have been
around since Barnes and Holman, and yet here we are, hoping to once again, partake in the sweet taste of success.
Goodnight all.

Unfortunately they don't show the video, but regardless, I think it's bullshit stirring when we are down and probably getting more air, because of Moses and his mates.
Let's be honest, Benji's tackling never hurt anyone, that I can remember.
Benjis style of tackling was a mix of touch & tag

This might be a better copy of Benji's interview today.

He is so emotional isn't he.

I really want him to get it together and see us get some wins.

I love how he said other coaches probably can't do it.

He also talked about wins and losses. We need wins.
