Given the broadcast truck, commentary boxes and primary camera banks are all on the western side, together with the lack of any real facilities for broadcast on the eastern side, this is one venue where it's probably not plausible

Some valid points - on a side note, 9 calls most of the outside Sydney games from the studio don’t they ?

Will this thread be collecting NRLW crowd figures? Would it even be possible?
Not likely but it won’t stop people complaining about them. Auststadiums, which is a source I use, rarely reports NRLW crowds.

If they're announced by the clubs, they'll be posted in here. I'm keen to see whether some of the experiments being trialed this year go (ie. Warriors moving most home games to Hamilton, Magic Round in Newcastle) as well how the Eels & Roosters matches at Granville & Gosford go second time around.

I get why the NRL went with a Thursday standalone game at Shark Park but starting the season in Cronulla is such a dour experience. This was felt on TV which is probably why the TV ratings were lower this year than the first game last year (383,000 last year in Newcastle compared to 284,000 this year in Cronulla).

Should have started with the Dogs at Belmore imo.

What is dour is reading your endless complaints about the sharks and state of origin. Respectfully.

Hasn't been any updates re tonight's Bulldogs - Broncos possible attendance for a day or so.
Perfect weather, although a bit chilly but that should be an attraction, not a deterrent.
