I'm hoping it is Luke Metcalfe, but I'll take Hughes. DCE can be of great help for the young ones coming through providing we get value for money for him. Wishart at this stage to me isn't marquee but he is good and covers other positions if needed.

Jonah Glover is gone, Ilias and Kyle still with us. Reed to move into Cup as the half - what happens to Ilias and Kyle and also LKT?

That might be nice and possm would be happy with that, wouldn't you possm?

And as possm has been saying, we need a marquee prop forward as well - don't forget about that Flanno. One big, hard, tough no nonsense prop forward please sir.
It makes sense to me.

DCE could bring Reed through and at the same time help Atkinson become the best five-eighth he can be. We need a game manager and a match closer. DCE, on a tow year deal, is exactly what we need.

There is no way we will get Hughes. He would never leave Melbourne. Especially to sign with our mess of a club.

Let's face it. Our options are limited. We will only be able to land someone old and desperate or really young and ambitious who is looking for minutes.
People can’t seriously believe that we’d even be a minuscule of hope to sign Hughes. Pleeeaassssseeeee

So JDB was the easy one to move. But I do believe there’s an element of wanting to clean up our PR and also not wanting his name against any records for the club. It’s sad as I think he regrets it but mud sticks. Noting our new CEO said in latest interview “ JDB has been good to the club and the club has also been good to JDB”. Says it all.
I read an interview with Jack recently and was very impressed, he said that everything he does these days he relates it back to his football and how it will affect his performance. He actually said that he was very professional and from anyone else it may have sounded like a boast, but he was obviously sincere. Genuinely does appear he has learnt a lot from what happened.
I`m prepared to give the club the benefit of the doubt on this one in that they are saving their money for the young blokes coming through.

In the Dragon Den Podcast, Tim Watsford highlighted that one important thing that he wants to see at the Dragons is improvement in the culture of the Club. Whether or not that means that while JDB has been good to the club and the club good to him, the club possibly doesn't see JDB fitting in with the culture they want to build for the future, maybe? and as JDB's contract ends at the end of this year, easy to just not renew it - sadly but from a business point of view, it would be necessary.

JDB did bring a lot of dramas to the club from late 2018 - 2021 and who knows, because of his actions and him still being kept at the Dragons, might have had a bearing on securing some "better" signings?!!
I agree David Dragon. It was brutal but makes sense.
