2025 Crowd Watch

For what it's worth, the Sydney top ten crowd aggregate for 2025 (343,018, or an average of 34,302) is:
- Up 1% on 2024 (339,305, or an average of 33,904)
- Up 10% on 2023 (313,074, or an average of 31,307)
- Up 23% on 2022 (279,093, or an average of 27,909)

And that's with several big games remaining in 2025 including:
- Canterbury Bulldogs vs NZ Warriors at Accor
- Canterbury Bulldogs vs Manly Sea Eagles at Allianz
- Sydney Roosters vs Canterbury Bulldogs at Allianz
- Sydney Roosters vs South Sydney Rabbitohs at Allianz

GA South at Allianz has been exhausted for Sunday game between Roosters and Tigers. Less than 150 tickets left in allocated seating on levels 1 and 2 (excluding bays 204 and 205, which started to move today).

If more bays on level 2 go on sale between now and game day, another top ten Sydney crowd for the year could be in the works (needs to beat 23,226 for Roosters vs Broncos in R1 at Allianz to take a top ten spot).

Let’s just take a moment to appreciate the Manly fans this year - in a stadium that can fit 18,000 people, they’re averaging almost 17,000 (95%) for their eight home games to date.

All this at a club that has been a bit up and down, at a stadium that has no rail line, is pretty undesirable to other Sydney based fans (unless you want to fight for parking), and is pretty open to the elements.

Well done.

Southern GA has just sold out at Canberra Stadium, so it's looking like it will be trending more towards 18K for today's game.

Meanwhile at Allianz Stadium, the Category 2 Roosters GA bays have just sold out and bays 203 & 206 have been put on sale. As long as it doesn't rain, this is a lock for 20K+.

The Roosters really have buried their 'small club, small crowd' stereotype haven't they?

With a slick organization, consistent success (anchored by 3 x premierships in the 2010s), and now a brand new stadium, I think they have revolutionized the rugby league product in Sydney. Their crowds have been great at Allianz 2.0 and are actually only growing year on year (particularly notable this year considering their injuries, slow start to the season, and home game vs South Sydney has been flipped from R3 to R27).

It's certainly left the likes of Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons (Sydney's long touted 'sleeping giants') in the dirt.
