They always just appear hungrier in deciders..they love being the underdog and having a cause. Shows how great line speed in defense can nullify almost any attack. Maybe Dean and the Dragons could learn from that… maybe not

I think maybe not JJ. This approach to defence is a given but for some reason our master defender for our squad is so ignorant of it. It just amazes me that something as obvious as that isn't employed every week. Hustle and Bustle. Get into their faces as quickly as possible etc. Geeeez!

I really hope that we don't end up having DY as our head coach. If Flanno was to depart, please let Willie Talau take over because he has had so much input into the young guys coming through and he knows the players well and the players respect him and by the time Flanno does go, the young ones will be ready to rip for Willie.

Why did Laurie bring in Dean Young no creditability and he has shown at Dragons line speed in defence is not up to Nrl standards in 2 years . Nsw in the last 2 games again struggled on defence and couldn't last the 80 minutes.
Hopefully now D Young has proven with the best Nsw team and players he still couldn't get it done.
No chance for him getting a coaching gig in the Nrl .

Dean Young must be more focused on the players holding a line rather than pushing up too quick.
This is fine if you have good line speed but they don't. So they just give up so many meters.
They take a few steps off the 10m mark, stop and wait for the opposition to come to them.
Besides Damien Cooks attempt last week, most of the time their kick chase is the same, slow jog in a line and stop 10m before the fullback, watch and wait for him to come to them.
If someone isn't pushing up quick enough the others will slow up to maintain the line to avoid a staggered defense.
A line on a fullback returning the ball is needed though they just do it so slow and never apply any pressure.

I won't be surprised, I'll be horrified! The QLD linespeed in defence for the entirety of last night's Origin was a joy to watch (except, of course, for the fact that it was QLD doing it and not NSW). My wife got sick of me saying "bloody hell, NSW are defending just like the Dragons, move up for God's sake!"
So, Dean for coach? It's a hard "NO" from me.
