I wouldn’t say it’s my favourite but the biggest “what could’ve been” with Junior’s skill. 2020 semi vs Souths he sets up our opening try by spinning at the line and easy pass to Gutho, then fast forward to 2nd half down 20-18, the ball spreads to Junior a bit wider which allows him to make a half break, and stand in the tackle for what seems like 5 minutes begging for someone to pass it to. Eventually Cook flops on him, doesn’t get binned, Moses hits post with penalty shot and the rest is history. All it needed was anyone to recognise Junior could pass it and I reckon we score and maybe hold on. We would’ve then played Smugs in prelim. Maybe we don’t win, but it may have set us up with better experience for games in 2021/22. Alas all that Junior could do was fall to ground and play for penalty that wasn’t rewarded either as much as it should’ve been

Twelve months ago merkins were calling for him to retire or get the chop in the clean out. He played through a bunch of injuries and is still today our best forward. Onya Junior.

And rightly so …. His form was ordinary for a sustained period and he’s paid a shitload
It’s great to him back to his best and hope he can continue.
Interestingly he is only 31 (thought he was older) so could have a few more years left in him

Especially considering he was a club captain and on huge coin.

Junior can be a bit hot and cold in recent times (last two years or so), but clocking up 200 Eels games is an honourable achievement!

By season end he should have surpassed Gutherson and others on that list of Eels games played too. I'm still going to assume he might finish up a little earlier than his contract term at the end 2026....

I don't have any particular or specific memories (all fading into each other these days), but at his peak Junior was a prop who could bend the line, with straight-up defence that could hurt, and an offload game that could challenge the skill level of some halves.

I'd be interested to know our record in player milestone games. I suspect it's atrocious.

I liked the pic of him dining with gangstas. I felt emboldened thinking we finally had one of our own. Then he got told no, you can't be a gangsta and you'll have to do a few years in the capitol for redemption.
merkin could have been a toe cutter FFS. Oh well. What might have been.
