R19 v Roosters @ Jubilee

I thought quite a few players had good games, but its just the usual errors- dropped balls, giving away silly penalties, and sadly as usual quite a few dud calls from the ref. Our kicking game never pressures anyone and we cant get out of trouble with a big kick like every other team can. Combine that with Suli who rarely breaks the line and cant pass and were always in trouble. Then ad Sloan who cant tackle to save his life- and also for large parts of the game is either disinterested or gives up.
If we were just outplayed or played well but got beaten it wouldn’t be so bad. But its the bloody mistakes every week that kill us. Its so hard to watch when i see the same supporters with me year after year just wondering why we bother. These guys are massively well played and we deserve better than this. But the excuses get rolled out every week saying this will never happen again, and then next week its the same rubbish. And i know its the same for the rest of this year, and I’ll keep going to Kogarah to watch them lose

Yes you hit it correctly.
Watching them self destruct.
These days attend a few games.
In past years wouldn't miss games even at Kogarah.
It's just to much of a chore watching it live at the ground.
Bad enough on tv.

thought when radley went over how bloody good would it be to see saints with the right players that could actually attack and have the opposition in all sorts . we continue to hit it up then when we send it wide no one is deep enough to worry opposition.. we desperately need that prop that can make metres - i hope daniel anderson can find one
Everyone, myself included, talks about Saints defensive problems however, we also have similar problems in attract and game management.

That is why I believe both Carr and Young need to be replaced with coaches who really know what is required for a first-grade team. This should be the first step along with the replacement of Haran and Millward. If things do not improve after this Flanagan must also be sacked.

The team is going backwards and have got progressively worse over the season as they just don’t learn from experience…… typical example the first 2 tries tonight were carbon copies of each other…. we learnt
Nothing…. that sums up the season. The coach does not seem to be able to connect with the players…. how many years of transition do we need…. next year will be another carbon copy of this year without a real marquee organising halfback
This same problem has been going on ever since Bennet left. So I believe the deep-seated problem lies with management, from BOD, through to the Football Department, Clean it all out and get some good staff involved.

Have only now seen the ‘ charge sheet ‘ for the weekend’s matches. Walker escapes with his dangerous 3rd man tackle on Klemmer whilst our 2 dragons were charged !

Can somebody - anybody explain to me how in the name of sweet hell why was Walker not charged , it was after all a bloody dangerous tackle ?

As if the rorters do not have enough things going their way with the blatant bloody underpriced signings of ‘ star ‘ players , thuggery that seems to run rampant in their team and now the bloody gutless judiciary will not haul one of the rorters protected species before the board whereas the ever suffering dragons have not one , but 2 players to front their esteem bloody panel ?

I can only suppose that our boys have been putting the wind up some of the opposition teams by losing only by a few points and that will not do - good lawd perhaps the Big Red V is is actually beginning to climb out of the bottom of the barrel and working our way close to the sunshine that presently only the very elite share between them ?

End of rant !

Yes very unfair Gareth. Dragons never the flavour of the week, month or year. We cop more than our fair share of penalties and poor ref decisions. Both Sloan and Finau were fined a thousand bucks each for their "indiscretions" on the field on Saturday night so won't need to face the panel.

You only get one heart. Preserve it.

I stopped getting worked up over the terrible bias and cheatery of the MRC to not jeopardise my health.
It's a farce that will continue on and on.

Great observation Gareth. I have been following the Red V since early 70's and The bias in the reporting, commentary, refereeing against the Dragons has never been worse. It is so blatant they are not even trying to cover it up. I believe it stems from 2 problems, 1. The jealousy of the 11 in a row, and 2. the media coverage of NRL primarily by Fox organisation.
Heaven forbid if the Panthers win another title. We will never hear the end of the greatest team in the "NRL era".

It's common knowledge in the rugby league world that Flanno and co put themselves above there own players welfare. If I was a player agent that would be a massive problem, he lost alot of respect in the game from plenty of people and it's still lingering now.

I was at the game tonight. I dont care what people say, 2 times Sloan stood there and watched them run straight past him. No attempted tackle, no nothing. He should never be selected again.
The second half try he was joined in standing still by several others.
The Roosters didn’t even play well tonight, luckily for us. I was at the Anzac Day debacle and thought we’d get square for once but that was too much to expect. Giving away stupid penalties when we got down their end. Once again a totally rubbish kicking game that never pressured them at all. Letting them get 6 points while they were a player down basically sums our team up. We let them have the ball for almost the whole time Walker was off
We throw the ball round for the first 20 mins and then its finished. Watching the same plan week in, week out.
Im just getting so sick of watching us lose, and going further down the ladder with no real chance of anything changing if we keep the same style of play every week. Surely a change of no 7 has to be our first priority. Flanagan isnt a bad player but hes not leading us round the park. Our season is done with who were playing next so why not try moving some guys around and see what happens. Weve got nothing to lose anymore
Was a big fan of sloan that's well gone some time ago , unfortunately we're busted for players due to injury so no choice really but watching him stand there making absolutely no attempt at all is just so disheartening flanagann had no chance to stop the try but at least he tried to knock the arm of the rooster in a last ditch effort sloan just watched WTF . I watched the replay of the parra game and in the last ten mins or so lawson with a busted shoulder got up dislodged the ball as the parra player went over the line took on lomax for a bomb managed to win that one with one arm and got between the parra center and wing and knocked the ball down three possible try saves what at a comparison between someone having a crack to earn his spot and someone that just thinks he should be there anyone that doesn't have that passion to win just needs to go their dead wood

I'd say it is common knowledge among player managers that the Illawarra arm of the Club's board does not prioritize the pursuit of success in the competition. It is also well thought that the Club management do not act in a professional manner when it comes to interactions with players.

Defence again 2 tries down Sloan's side and guess who Kyle was back peddling in the line near sulli he does it every week doesn't take the player will not compete.
We had the advantage with walker off for 10 minutes in the sin bin and up by 6 but again no kicking game or attacking plays and 6 agains . 2nd half its been the story every week this season the team only playing for 40 minutes.

That is indeed one of the biggest insults to the St.George teams , players of that era , not to mention the club itself . Most players have gone through the pearly gates by now , however the club and fans have not and by constantly referring to the Penrith run of premierships as being the longest is incorrect and as said an insult to all supporters .

But the game of rugby league has changed so much in this day and age that truth is a constant casualty and simply falls by the wayside .

However by heralding the the success of of a modern day era team to the exclusion of the most successful rugby league team ever - and for that matter in any sport world wide - is a bloody disgrace !

Funny, every other team's supporters say the same thing.
