We're clearly just f**king around now and literally just going to experiment by 'playing trials' in preparation for 2026.
In that regard, it was a decent hit out i guess.
But, there is no way we're taking things seriously and trying to win as many games as possible for this season with Papali'i at 6 and Brown playing limited minutes at 9. I support this approach if that is the plan for 2026, as I've maintained we knew what we we're getting ourselves in for in 2025 once Gutho and RCG were let go and not replaced.
Wow, we've really played Brown... If we'd done this two weeks ago, he would've signed with Newcastle before 30 June. He has no purpose to be here any longer if this is the plan for the rest of the season though. To be fair, given where our season is at, I wouldn't be surprised if Brown is on the couch with Lane and Matterson soon.
Williams and Paulo are playing too many minutes and liabilities defensively. This won't be resolved with the squad of players as it is for 2026.
Iongi went well, Simonsson showed some promise, Lomax was rubbish.
What's our strategy once Smith and Penisini can play???
We'll obviously throw the ball around, try and work on combinations, etc for next year for the remainder of the season, but we'll get massacred when teams approach games against us seriously.
