The question is a hard one. Going back to the days when our stranglehold on 9th spot was a thing would make a lot of tiger supporters happy atm. Why have we sucked for such a long time?

I’d luv 9th spot coz it means we would currently be contenders for the finals & hence I’d be enthused about watching them each wk.At the moment the only thing we look like attaining is a 4th spoon.If the tits are anywhere near full strength next wk I’ve lost all confidence of beating them at the 8th.

3 api just couldn’t do they extra effort to collect that ball off the ground..knock on! He looked like he was hung over then and that was early in the game..

I get where you are coming from in relation to AD but I don't think Luai has been that bad. Latu didn't find any space and neither did Luai. AD with his strong running did though. There is no way I would move Latu from the halves for the rest of the season assuming he isn't injured. Luai is the captain and I don't think he is playing poorly. He just isn't winning us games.

Api also isn't winning us games. He had that one pearler this year but he isn't playing consistent footy.

There was more to the loss today as well. Our forwards were smashed. Our backs were smashed.

I'll say it again. We have to be consistent. If we continually turn the ball over during a game then Benji can address that, if it's not covering from the inside in D then that can be addressed.
Inconsistency kills a team.
You mentioned Luai a Fainu not finding space but last week we did. That's because of these inconsistencies that plagues our club. We can make excuses like we had different halves or whatever but good teams simply do the fundamentals well, like decoy runners, good kicking, running good lines etc.
I still think that the teams mindset is the coaches job. He has to observe body language and keep the team focussed, running hard and fast which starts at training.

The WT will do well to win this game, the blatant favouritism by the ref and bunker to the Warriors cause is embarrassing.That WT challenge was proof enough of hometown bias.

There’s a little bit of a difference between those 2 and Billy S and Cameron S … The storm boys were without question the best in their positions and gave a huge fk.. Therefore they could be given the team to run.. but these 2 ..far from it on both counts by the looks..I’m still thinking Benji may not last to next year

Mmmm I don’t think the roster is that bad..1/ I watched Klemmer play for the Dragons yesterday. I hardly recognised him with his aggression and impact…. 2/ I think Luai’s a problem as a leader and his impact on the team and as a player at 6.. ..Neither Luai nor Galvin can win games?? I noticed Luai did all the kicking today. Latu can kick..

I don't remember the exact quote but Benji said the Warriors are a really good team. Even more true is we are a really crap team.

I don't see our squad as the problem. Our spine should be elite (Luai and Api are not performing, Galvin was crap, Latu has been good but injured and he needs to develop his game, AD who shouldn't be there has outperformed every other half with limited opportunities). Our forwards and outside backs are pretty good. We are lacking a right edge backrower (to replace Seyfarth/Sukkar), a left edge centre (replace AD) and probably an impact middle forward (Hunt should have been this player).

Luai and Api are under-performing big time this season. These guys are going to kill or make Benji's coaching career over the next couple of years.

If they perform we make the finals and we can give the comp a shake. If they don't perform like right now we don't make the finals.

Latu is a young player just starting his career and he is going to be heavily watched because he is a threat. He will also be inconsistent and make some mistakes. In my opinion we have to go easy on him but we cannot blame other players for a guy not getting the job done. That is on him. He needed to run it more. We need him heavily involved but not going for the big hail mary play ala Galvin.

AD has been our best half but I have no confidence in him longer term. He has let me down so many times. To be fair to him he is in my opinion too slow to be an outside back. He gets caught out wide defensively and he was a big part of the Warriors scoring their first two tries.

I mean I would much rather AD in our team based on Luai's performances and I would pick him over Luai. I would move him to the bench utility role now though and offer him a reasonable contract for next year based on playing that role. He won't stay though. He is worth more than that based on his performances this season.

If by "special" you mean overhyped, agreed.

I hate to say it but, to me, he seems to have spent the past couple of months proving why he was left out of Origin.

Yes, he plays big minutes.
Yes, his stats, at a glance, would suggest he's going well.
But pay attention, and he's really just clocking up fantasy points.
I see no real impact at all.

He's supposed to be the big dog.
And yet he's seemingly intent on being the next Isaah Yeo.
Every second time he gets the ball he acts as a link man and ball plays.

Forget that.
He should be out there trampling people.
The sooner Benji tells him to just tuck the ball under his arm and do it, the better IMHO.

Poor ole Fonua Pole is pretty much left to do the grunt work on his own.
Honestly, May played ~20 minutes longer than Pole and yet only ran for 14 metres more.
