Not sure of the breakdown but 2013, 2014 have all the Origin viewing records.

It was pre streaming days to be fair. Stan and Netflix would of taken casuals away too

The last season India v Australia the highest watched programs ever on Fox. It is a shame Fox doesn't do the breakdown.

Fox have the IPL, India home tests and a Hindi coverage. So that would be the preferred platform

But do you agree this was because of the interest in breaking QLD’s 8 yrs dominance ?

So Foxtel has had the cricket for 6 years right ? How’s the cricket going on FTA these days ?

Once again someone outside Sydney thinking they know Sydney better than a lifelong resident

Origin was at its peak ratings wise around 2014.

In that time the amount of people born in India has doubled, China has a big increase too.

2nd table shows where the cities main population born overseas comes from.

Sydney is China
Brisbane is NZ.

What population is going to enjoy RL more?
Brisbane manages to attract Asians to RL. You see quite a few at Suncorp

Sydney needs more Kiwi's, P.I.'s and English and South Afrcians and needs to stop immigration from China, India, Africa and the middle east and that goe's for Europe too.

Australia’s population has been and will continue to be coming from overseas migration. That’s a reality that many countries will now be facing. Of sports want to grow with that population they need to find ways to engage the different cultures which are growing in our community.

League does a poor job with Asian and Indian especially in Sydney

Earlier migrant groups have adopted the game somewhat even if they like soccer

Lack of Asian / Indian players doesn’t help

Hugely underrepresented in the game

Clubs are lazy too they don’t seem to try hard to get new groups coming in

Players or watchers,

I’m Indian - there is a really large population of people my age who are of Indian/subcontinental background that I know (40s) watching league. Indians assimilate generally. I was born here and in the shire in 1980s. I’ve always followed league.

So Foxtel has had the cricket for 6 years right ? How’s the cricket going on FTA these days ?

There was 1 clean sweep from QLD during the 8 in arow, every year it was a chance to happen

Stan and Netflix both launched in 2015, since then the FTA ratings have then declined

FTA is mainly for casuals, Very few casuals want to sit around around a tv in summer these days. Attention span is very limited

So ? Never mind that a couple of them were over 2-0 as well … but the story became around them breaking the drought and that attention increased every year … I mean you lived through it as well right ?

Bro, the wookie might have the info on hand, but the Aussies played Fiji a few years ago in RL, again, they're a minnow. Iirc, it rated near 1 million. The ARU would not like those figures, the Wallabies are one of our national teams and Fiji are actually known as a "Rugby" nation of both codes on the rise.

85,000 on Fox STB (2022 World Cup)

The 2017 games I dont have to hand, but ill have a look around when i get home, be on a spreadsheet somewhere that hasnt transferred to google docs

ENOUGH OF THE BS

I have a plea for VOZ, the company that delivers the new “total television measurement” reports.

Please stop ordering results in terms of reach.

No-one in the industry will claim a win based off reach. While it’s nice to include in some PR guff, a win is still decided on who has the biggest average – as it should be. The reports are confusing and not a true indication of the daily ratings results.

9NEWS will never claim a win over 7NEWS based on reach – so if the networks aren’t using that metric, why do you insist on using it for order placement.

It’s time to go back to listing the top shows in order of Average Audience.

Feel free to include the reach number, but we all know the use of that figure is just BS.

Seven claims wins using reach for afl as “number 1 sport”, and if they lose that but win average they claim a win too.
