What a joke they move on Ryan Carr not Dean Young again wrong guy to blame and replace he Ryan Carr has more experience in coaching and assisting roles than the untouchable Dean Young .
That is not the case at all. The reports are Carr is interested in the Castleford Tigers HC gig, not that we are pushing him out.
Of course he is going to take a HC gig over being an AC...

What the f**k has Carr done, he has been in charge of our limp attack for 4 years, bye Ryan.
A bit weird seeing people say our attack is the problem. Makes me wonder what games they are watching. In general we’ve been scoring points - and this year we’ve often scored enough points for a quality NRL team to claim the win. Even last weekend - 24 points should win most games of football.
‘Could we attack better? Absolutely - but so not the biggest problem. Poor field position, poor defence and errors are what’s hurting us.
Our attack might not be scintillating and it might still be a bit clunky but it’s far better than it was in 20,21,22,23,24…..we’re averaging 22 points a game in 2025 - pretty much in line with the Bulldogs, Warriors and Panthers who are all above us on the ladder. How we’ve lost 10 games whilst averaging 22 points a game should be the real question.

Agree, our attack is the least of our problems. We are scoring enough points to win most games. Defensively is another question.

Souths, Parra, Warriors, Canberra, Roosters. Game management and a few defensive plays and sitting in the 8. Whole different ball game there even if they finish off say 3 of those 5 games

I'd say the attacking structures have been fine besides handing it off to a Blake Lawrie 10m out to take a standard hit up so they can set up the backline for the next set play. However the same play with a front rower that's hard to handle, draws a few defenders and has an offload is not a bad play before spreading it.
As good as what Gutho brings to the team, many times he has been in open space though not fast enough to run away and score. Where a Papenhuyzen would turn that same break into points.
Not saying we have anyone better, we create opportunities with our attack it's either not enough possession or field position and if we have the field position it's the lack of star power to execute.

We've lost 6 close games because we couldn't ice them.
On the weekend like the other games we have possession and field position and couldn't come up with a try just like the other games and just like last year.
Just because other teams defence is as bad as ours doesn't make our attack good.
Fans after every close loss we shouldn't won that, we just needed to score or our attach is 5 hitups and a bomb, also fans our attack is good.

Team selections badly impact our attacking ability more than the attacking style itself and let's not confuse attacking styles with game management which is another matter altogether.

SF continually picking plodders like Lawrie and Allen on top of injury prone players like Sele & CT and then throwing in a piss poor halfback in KF who controls or directs nothing certainly doesn't help the attacking coach's efforts so IMO Carr has done well to get the + scoreboard moving up as much as it has.

Our bench impact and bench use was terrible on Saturday night.
* Liddle - excellent player but should have been on earlier
* Hamish Stewart - obviously carrying an injury
* Blake Lawrie - had a shocker. Cannot understand why he keeps getting into our 17. I'd imagine that hailing from Dapto has something to do with it. Roosters grew an extra leg when he came on.
* Michael Molo - was actually pretty good.

If we had more impact from the bench, we would have won this game. Two of LPT, Tsougranis and/or Fafita should have played.

1. Our biggest problem is defense.
2. Our game management and onfield leadership is next.
3. Attacking game plan is our third problem.

So see you later Young and Carr.
Your on notice Flanagan
Congratulation Willie.

As already mentioned by numerous members the Dragons are indeed scoring points ( perhaps this is due to Flanagan’s coaching ability ? ? ?) - in fact enough to win most matches , but other aspects of our general play need to be brought up to scratch , yet again as other have already said - our disgusting handling , schoolboy errors and the absolute need of players of true quality .

If a team is hamstrung due to influences that they themselves cannot control such as recruitment, decisions made by the club’s hierarchy that impact the teams overall performance , then until these obstacles are removed - or replaced with astute personal then the status quo shall remain as is .

After those problems are finally rectified then the coach will have a team that is capable of winning games on a consistent basis .

Our biggest problem is our defense, and to solve this we need a new defensive coach, so sack Young.
Next problem is we are lacking a marquee prop.
Next problem is that our halves cannot manage a game, kick long into the corners, or kick a field goal. How on earth do we expect to compete with other clubs?

We have two captains, but on-field decisions are poor.

I feel like our defence might be alright if not for a couple of guys who really shouldnt be selected each week (the chinks in the armour).. but we kind of need too keep selecting due to a lack of depth and injuries.

The big 3 are Couch1/Couch2/Egan, all of them dramatically improve our defence, our linespeed, and our ability to keep getting back off the canvas.

Wingers are the other defensive problem.. we do need to do something about that, genuinely a lot of games lost on them alone.. and its very frustrating, because it undoes all the hard slog we've done across the park.. not that its always their fault.. but the defence is not NRL standard..

Wonder if Anderson has some juniors lined up for roosters that he will bring to the dragons now. Remember Shane Millard did the same when he came from the dogs
Hope he's coming before October as rumoured...otherwise all the signings for next year will have been sorted and we'll be left without signing anyone again.

Also rumoured Sione Fainu has several offers from rival clubs for next season. With him going and Sloan going' will we have anyone left to field a team...all I hear is players leaving the Dragons with the only new player coming Atkinson.

It is sure frustrating. I’d like to think the club has a plan & commitment for 06. The last 12 years we may have had one as well but the dickheads running the show were not up to it. Here’s hoping things have changed?
