I don’t think we really know what we want… one day it’s a marquee half, the next it’s a winger…. When we already have Sloan, ct, feagi, finau, rava etc, the next day it a marque middle…. it changes every day. All the while we are trying to offload multiple payers and have offloaded our best defender JDB…..there does t seem to be any coherent plan with seemingly a lot of spots to fill… but where are these players coming from to fill these spots when there seem to be very few quality players on the market…. I’m confused

No offence mate though those wingers you mentioned are lucky to be first graders!
CT Deffs first grade (when fit) though the others are poor.

Both points are valid here, on the one hand we have a million wingers on the books... on the other hand... none of them are any good... with the jury still out on Sione (if we can keep him) and Lawson (very much a project still).

While its good to have 1 bloke like Mat Feagai or Corey Allan who is reliable injury cover for wing/ctr, I feel like the 'safe' mentality with most of the wing retentions (including Sloans 2026 extension) has really been handled poorly.. and im hoping Tim/Daniel can get a bit more of a holistic picture of our squad moving forward, rather than just Flanno whos focussed on trying to win next weekend.. I think we can set our sights higher than guys that can run the ball up a bit but otherwise not make us a better 17... guys who oppositions teams would be stoked to be facing.

Wing is one of the easiest positions to recruit also.. every young ctr/fullback can start on the wing...

I'd say the attacking structures have been fine besides handing it off to a Blake Lawrie 10m out to take a standard hit up so they can set up the backline for the next set play. However the same play with a front rower that's hard to handle, draws a few defenders and has an offload is not a bad play before spreading it.
As good as what Gutho brings to the team, many times he has been in open space though not fast enough to run away and score. Where a Papenhuyzen would turn that same break into points.
Not saying we have anyone better, we create opportunities with our attack it's either not enough possession or field position and if we have the field position it's the lack of star power to execute.
What about the 20 times Kyle ran across field & turned it back inside to Sua. Tricked the defence every time!!!!!!!!
