Yep.
After halftime the Raiders completion rate went up and ours went down. Pretty much sums it up.

We copped a raw deal from the ref today but we did ourselves no favours with handling errors, poor decisions in attack and woeful defensive reads.

We have to do better to keep ourselves in games because the refs certainly ain’t going to help us.

That shortside play on the 5th @ 16-12 was horrendous.

The ruck has been a totally mess for 20 years, that is another reason why my idea of having 3 forward defenders who can defend anywhere so long as they are behind the advantage line is the way to go (or going back to 5 mtrs) both those ideas make ruck speed less important.

Second half felt like more of the same garbage from the last 2 seasons. Robotic one-out hitups for most of the set and then hoping someone would break a tackle late in the count. First half had a lot more ball movement, which forced Canberra's D-line to shift, creating gaps and space out wide.
The previous regime lived by the second half mantra and it was flawed, so I'd love to hear what style Ryles is spruiking because today created more questions than answers.

Would add, speed in the centres to take advantage of any breaks, we have plodders in the centres and no sign that our recruitment is searching for anyone, There is a desperate need to add a few additions to what we have , not reserve graders but real additions like we often see at the big clubs, sigh.

Flame away but if I was Ryles I would stick with Joash in 6 for at least the next 2 games (which we aren't expected to win). Would rather he learn his lessons in FG with hopefully Moses in 7 and where his mistakes won't necessarily cost us the win.

I don’t see why you wouldn’t persist at this stage. He’s been absolutely awful at 6, but the only thing to play for at this point of the season is to try to sort out positions for next year, so there’s literally no reason (other than playing solely to avoid the spoon now) not to have him there for the rest of the year.

Having said that, if he is as bad as he’s been thus far for the rest of the year, I wouldn’t be persisting with him to start next year at 5/8. This season should be his audition, not “let’s give him the rest of the year and see how the pre-season goes”.

We need more impact players who can drag us out of being pinned in our one end and get some momentum our way

some key second half moments were 2 bad mistakes by Joash Papalli and a dropped ball from Simonson that 60% of the time gets called a strip.
