100% agree
Anybody who cannot give credit for that effort is a flog and should just fxck off.

How Flanno has been able to start with a crap squad, lose his front rower (Molo), lose our tradesman in Eisunhuth and Sele. Lose Couch, Couch, Egan, CT, and now Val and still get these guys up against the Raiders (1st), Roosters (gun squad), Doggies (2nd). Be in every game bar 2 the whole season. All this and blood 5 youngsters.
This team won't give up and that is a sign of an excellent leader. I was so proud of these guys and have been all season. Flanno gets them up every week. And yet there are f**kers on here who won't relent on the fxcking agendas. Yes, he's made mistakes, but there is no doubt this squad is playing way, way, way above the talent level.
The same fxcjers said we get a 50 burger put on us......same as they said against the Raiders and the Roosters and the Sharks.........these aren't real supporters, they are fxcking trolls and they need to be put on ignore. It really is bliss not having to debate with idiots. Don't debate with idiots as they'll bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I love Gutho as a player but as a decision maker he’s made some head scratching calls this year.
I think Gutho's short drop out was extremely smart as it didn't give the doggies a chance at a 2 point Burton field goal. He backed his teams defence and if not for the refs and a Sloan brain fade, nearly pulled it off. No way Gutho wanted Golden Point as we are shit at it and Burton/ Dogs are really good at it.

It's very obvious at the end of the game the inept cheating touchie that didn't see either of the forward passes thrown by the mutts in the last two minutes and the other cheating flogg with the whistle gave each other a down low sneaky high five unfortunately for them the camera was right on them their a disgrace and the fact that they can so openly cheat now for the teams on the agenda and not have to answer for anything is an even bigger disgrace shame shame on every single fat cat media outlet and or gambling outlet owner that's involved wit

I can see your argument but I’m taking the risk of a a low percentage 2 point field goal and golden point over the risk of giving one of the best teams in the comp a free hit at the stumps with 3 minutes to go. We’re just as bad at short drop outs as we are at golden point. The history of the Dragons I’ve watched over the last 15 years suggests we both fail to get the ball back from the short kick and also fail to defend our line. It’s just what the Dragons do. And that’s exactly what happened. I can bet my house on this team failing in situations like that.

No mention of Mahoneys try where he used one of his players as a shield and Sua couldn't get at him to tackle him because of said shield. At the time he scored, I remembered thinking gee that was too easy. Then I saw the replay and it was so obvious.
Last week we had one of those pulled up on the halfway mark when Finau raced away.

Ridiculous comment.

How many teams go straight for a two point field goal after catching a long drop out?

You do realise that you have to be behind the 40 meter line to get two points for a field goal, most teams are at the 40 or past it after tackle 1 or 2 after receiving a drop out, meaning you'd have to take a shot after tackle 1.

Sloan scored a couple of tries and let some in. His last attempt let an overlap, which his opposite winger crossed the try line.

Give me Bosstock over Sloane any day of the week.

How is ti we let the good ones go and hold onto the ones with 'potential' which is never realized.

the short dropout isnt just used to get the ball back. the reason its so widely adopted is because defending your goal line is the easiest position in your half to defend. if you think about it, the players only have to rush up and get back a couple of meters. this reduces the efficiency of a quick play the ball because there is no gaps, it also conserves the energy of the defensive line. all-in-all, i don't think it was s dumb decision but i wouldnt have been mad if they went long either, they could have just as easily scored no matter where the dropout landed and lets face it they would have been in the red zone by tackle 2 the way we give easy meters, but more fatigued from the chase

100%, defending your line is always a safer play than having to run to get onside.. especially in the 77th minute.. if Sloan is going to run in like that there is nothing we can do.

Its the same thing fans used to rip into Corey Norman for.. before short dropoffs were cool.. the Walker brothers worked out it was the smartest play.... easier to defend from your goalline... AND if we actually caught the ball... which you have say a ~40% chance of doing.. we win the game.. those are good odds.

I couldnt believe it didnt get discussed.. I was trying to think in what world can you run with a player beside you like that.. I dont think anyone got badly obstructed on this occasion.. but I could easily see it being a no-try... and im not gonna watch it again.. too painful..

I get the argument. For a better team I’d agree. But our defence is fragile. Our inability to defend a lead has been exposed multiple times this season. The likelihood of a defender - in this case Sloan - a serial offender in this area - having a brain fart with the game on the line is super high.
2010 Dragons - I’d back them to defend their line in that situation every day of the week. The 2013 - 2025 Dragons? No way I’m backing them to defend their line with the game on the line.

Atkins was the video ref. The same bloke who claimed the kick off didnt go 10 against the sharks.

The ref said try for Sloan’s first but Atkins said no.
the ref ruled knock on by Kiraz and the dogs challenged and again Atkins went against the dragons.
Atkins has an issue with the dragons. He is the new Steve Clark, and what a dog of a thing he was.

I've closed my sportsbet account and cancelled my kayo subscription. Anything affiliated with the NRL is not getting another cent from me for the rest of the year.
They can well and truly go f**k themselves.
Yes the inconsistency with the officials in our game is bloody diabolical and its getting worse.......yes we made some errors thats a given but the two glaring incidents, the play the ball and the knocking the ball into Sloan costs us the game imo...then to rub salt into the wound I watched the closing 10 mins of the Manly v Storm game and at 16 all with mins to go Manly were gifted the game with a penalty in front and the 2 comp points....if Harry Grant made contact with Brooks leg intentionally or dangerously then that'll do me (and I'm not a Melb fan) In fact Grant turned half sideways and it was Brooks that actually kicked into Harry.....if their going to rule on this like they did then outlaw the charge down completely....just another bullshit interpretation by officials....if you think I'm pissed off because they got 2 competition points and we got sfa then your correct
