What's the general consensus of our playing strip?
I couldn't help feeling annoyed after watching the Tigers play at their spiritual home ground Leichhardt Oval, wearing a predominantly dark black jersey.
I have in the past also felt for the old Magpies supporters when the situation is reversed at Campbelltown.
Since we are a merged club that won't let go of our former identity, how do we overcome these feelings, or am I on my Pat Malone?
I also don't like us not having a Wests Tigers reserve grade side which only serves to strengthen the divide imo.
If we want to go the full hog of merging, then maybe our playing strip should have an equal amount of White, Back, and Gold. Not just playing strip's, but with merchandise too.
Another feeling I got when watching the warm up period against the Titans, where the players were wearing an almost full white tshirt, was how refreshing and good the players looked in them.
When the Broncos were trying to break a losing street recently, they wore a predominantly all black strip. The players seemed to like it and they came out firing and won the game. It's psychological I know but it often works in other codes.
I'm thinking a white strip with some black and gold piping might have a similar effect on our boys....be a lot cooler too heading into the warmer final rds.
But in summary, I'd like to see equal tri- colours at all venues we play at, home or away.
