Super League clubs close in on 14-team decision with key meeting set
Exclusive: The future of Super League will be decided imminently.www.alloutrugbyleague.co.uk
Let's hope so! Hopefully we can see a buy in from the NRL at some level to sustain this for at least a decade. It'll need cash to sustain that expansion.
Good for toulose
If they do go to 14 based on criteria then toulose Bradford are a lock and York / London the other spot
Article says giants are a chance of dropping out (unlikely)
Given Ken Davy hates french clubs that would be beautiful
Their central grant has fallen from 2 million quid to 1.2 millionSuper League central funding figures revealed with big drop in current deal https://share.google/kcVmshD6TCcK2iAji
No sht sherlock! Not like the EPL isnt known about. English Union has followed the same trajectory but its hit their clubs even harder.Their central grant has fallen from 2 million quid to 1.2 million
Around the same time the nrl grant has gone from around 3 to five million to 17 to 20 million aud
Shows the challenges the English game faces
Unions tv deal didn’t go down in halfNo sht sherlock! Not like the EPL isnt known about. English Union has followed the same trajectory but its hit their clubs even harder.
Neither has SL's.Unions tv deal didn’t go down in half
And super league was doing ok previously when premier league was still a thing
If not Pvl then someone like Richard Lewis or even Eric Perez running it is what’s needed

So long as he has his club, everyone else be dammed! Against any expansion outside of one's that directly benefit him..
That's SL - the majority of those clubs.
Wakey has a sold out 9k or whatever vs Leeds- they say wonderful, more of that..
Without any realisation that that 9k will always only ever be there abouts.. the size of the town, where it is.. is tapped out! Will never grow!
Does my head in.
PVL.. Please help !!

My club hasnt avg'd over 7.5k for decades. some would say it was tapped out at that.
Lo and behold club got its sht together on and of the field and will this year avg over 10k.
SL isnt NRL, clubs arent going to get 20k. Plonking clubs in Birmingham or Liverpool or Nottingham arent going to see crowds rise. Just clubs fail (again)
Clubs building their facilities and fanbases like Wakey, HKR, Leigh have done (and soon Cas hopefully) along with better marketing and closer competition is where we will see SL attendances increase.
A well run Bradford and York have great potential. London are always going to be up against it but worth persevering with if they can get their sht together and find some investors.
France need to be in SL for the sake of French RL and its future, but they are bludging and costing the English clubs money. That's the hard fact of it.
My ideal SL would be
St's
Wigan
Warrington
Leigh
Leeds
Cas
Wakey
Bradford
HKR
HFC
York
London
Toulouse
Catalans

They’ve been building the club up for a few years. Not sure if they’ve got recent new investment. Why are York a powerhouse all of a sudden?!
