Probably more like fifteen years

As Pvl has said they will see how png and pb go but will push it forward if they do ok

I’ll still be surprised if Team 20 comes in by 2030 … the Broadcasters would need to know now where it’s going to be, before the next deal is done

Either it will be discussed and agreed to now as a possibility or added mid contract like the dolphins if the need arises

But obviously they are worried about player depth and want to see what kind of squads those two put together

Seems like Pvl actually believes png won’t be running last for a long time and will be competitive which is a bold prediction

Having a bye each week when you can have an extra game and get more money from tv for it means they won’t stay on 19 for too long

I'm leaning more to a NZ2 team as #20 as long as David Moffett is not involved.

PNG have been bidding for an NRL license since 2010. They were part of the wave that included CC Bears, WA Pirates, Western Corridor NRL, Brisbane Bombers, Brothers NRL and so on and so forth.

South Queensland can sustain another team. But I’d wait until after Olympics. After that there is going to be an abundance of commercial sporting locations available to set up shop. Including in and around Ipswich.

If the nrl stops at 20 teams then it has to be nz2

If it expands beyond it then sure

And it was an interview with Arthur beetson saying Redcliffe should get an nrl team

And then they denied the Gold Coast from using the dolphins moniker in case they ever got a team (smart move too)

If you are talking about when they were in Christchurch for the test , it was widely reported at the time that PVL and Abdo did not meet with any bid ..

Who is associated with this bid ? We don’t know still right ?
