Rumoured & Confirmed Signings (2025 Season)

Foxsport reporting the Sharks are considering letting Siosifa Talakai and Hamlin-Uele go a year early, in order to create enough cap space to re-sign Brailey and Kennedy for next year.

If we do end up letting Sorensen go a year early, then Talakai would be a good signing, as he would give us that impact player off the bench that we need. He can also be an extra in game injury cover for centre.

He may end up going for too much, but I reckon Talakai would be a weapon here. Hamlin Uele would probably be surplus to requirements.

Would depend how much the Sharks want to tip in.

Talakai on the right deal for sure.

Hamlin? I'd buy him for the same reason. Off the bench to charge it.

Both sharing similarities with Patea.

There was a game a few years back, against Manly I think. He scored 4 tries in a half and could have had a few more. Was one of the most dominant halves of football you'll see from a player.
Absolute no from me, he's a dog. See about 2 minutes in.

Penrith Panthers risk losing forward amid contract silence

He can speak with rival teams from November 1.

A Penrith Panthers forward could be on the move from the foot of the mountains, with the club yet to table him a contract extension beyond the expiration of his current deal.

Taking his game to new heights over the past two seasons, Liam Henry has been key to the Panthers' forward pack coming off the interchange bench and played in their 2024 NRL Grand Final victory over the Melbourne Storm.

Joining the club in 2019 before progressing through the club's pathways system, the 24-year-old is a consistent performer on the rugby league field and is only going to get better as he gets more experience under his belt.

Off-contract at the end of 2026, reports have emerged that Henry is set to test his value on the open market come November 1 and is likely to attract the attention of multiple rival clubs.

This comes as the Panthers have yet to table a contract extension to keep him beyond 2026.

It is understood that the Perth Bears are one of the teams that could make a play for the front-rower's services as they prepare to build their roster from scratch.

"There's been some whispers around Liam Henry," The Daily Telegraph's Brent Read said on Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Cat and Woodsy.

"Not that the club won't offer him a deal, but that he might head to November 1 because they haven't come to the table with an offer yet.

"Speaking with his management, they want to get a deal done.

"The club's actually reached out to him in the past week or two and said, just wait, we'll get something done, we want to keep him, but as it stands, he's heading to November 1."

It's destabilise the Panthers time of year again.

The rugby league world knows what happens on Nov 1st every year. Who says if a player is not signed prior he is on the move? Journalists do, because they love to stir the pot with speculation.

But hey, what else is he gonna talk about on 360. Hater

Cole, Eisenhuth, Garner, Henry, Smith & Sorro are all off contract after 2026.

Sorro is gone for sure, if not this year. Garner next year is almost certainly his last year with us. Cole should get a gig somewhere. Eiso is done. None of those outs would be on huge money but nor have Smith/Henry really justified a monster deal. They're solid NRL middles with a fair bit of upside left given they're still only 24/25.

The following year though we have Cleary, Talagi, Leota, Kenny, Martin, Ice, Patea, Biz and Yeo off contract. Some big decisions to be made and if one of Henry/Smith needs to go to manage that list however the club sees fit, I'm fine with that. At the moment Henry is the logical option.

Liam has not improved this year but having said that most props don’t hit there best untill there 25 plus .So he still has a higher ceiling.I guess it all comes down to how much he is asking above what he is on

Leota will be 32 in 2027 - the last year of his contract. Who know what he does then. The club are right to be cautious. If, it is a fair price, I would like to keep him.

Hypothetical. If we lost Henry 26 and then Leota retires end of 27. We might be short of decent options. Patea should fill one role, but with Perth and PNG coming in. Decent replacements might be limited.
As you say. His best form is still in front of him.

depends if the club see Liam as a genuine starter - if not, then its time to move Liam on. We need our future starting props sorted

Leota is coming to the end of his career where he would still be useful for impact off the bench, he's a useful leader (especially to the Pasifika boys) and has a good training attitude - i see more upside keeping Leota over Henry currently.

given that Huth, Dias & Riki should be moved on in 2026 - you'd hope that we'd find some decent replacements pushing for a game in FG like Patea has done this year.

Its just business IMO, no doubt they will make an offer but Patea's rapid emergence has probably knocked Liam down the pecking order when they are looking at 2027 and beyond.
