Did you notice the spread of Penrith players placed intentionally to block, the look on the Penrith player’s face before he moved intentionally to block, and the Penrith trainer barking instructions to the players. Nothing Penrith does in a situation like that is accidental. It’s rehearsed. They got caught red handed.

Grant milked the f**k out of it, no doubt at all. But Moses shouldn't have shuffled, he was entitled to be there as he was in position to hit it up, once the ball was passed and he wasn't the receiver he should have been a statue. The little shuffle to the left made it an easy decision for the bunker to enforce the rule. We are one of the reasons the rule came in, so probably a bit of Karma that we are the ones to be burned by it.

Disappointed to lose obviously, but plenty to like about the game. We know the formula to win it all, just need to stay the path.

The more I looked at it , the more brilliant I think that play was. Moses fatal sin was taking that small step which affected absolutely nothing....them Harry does the rest. Brilliant play.

It says so much about the club culture that in that position he's not thinking about the glory of charging down the field goal to save the game but of his best way of playing the ref for a bail out call. More so defence. He barely ever misses a tackle. Unlikely he is fooled as easily by Grant at the end.Though it likely never gets to that situation with him.

Hopefully they clash again in finals with Yeo, Patea, Hughes and Paps on board.

I'm looking forward to next week. For a team coming first Canberra are flying under the radar really, I think we can do a number on them if we play well, but they will throw plenty at us. Very contrasting styles, so should be a fun one.

My takeaways from the game:
How nice waa it not to see a million 6 agains? The game flowed without the ref deciding momentum and field position.
Coates has hit a vein of form and is in god mode. Even the chase from the most improved player in the NRL couldn't stop him.

On the Leota penalty, he's allowed to position himself there. The rule was to prevent a specific formation where the attacking players would stand tight at the ruck to deny the markers a clear path. Grant had a clear path to Cleary and chose to go the long way. I could even see the case that Leota stepped the way he did to help Grant take that inside lane and Grant took advantage of it.

The thing that gets me is that if you're going to be that strict, then why wasn't Loiero penalised for not being square at marker?

That's not to take away from the Storm's victory. That was a quality game of football and outside of the work of Xavier Coates what stood out to me was the performance of the replacement players in Seve and Pezet. Both came up with huge plays for their team and Marion in particular deserves credit for that Coates intercept try. However they need to review that Leota incident again because it goes against what Annesley said last year when he reviewed the Dolphins-Raiders game.

Saxon he knew he wasn't going to make an attempt to stop that field go so he did the next big thing milk it and the whole f**king NRL establishment fell for it, anyway it worked out fine for the Storm. Everyone with half a brain can see it was an act.
