I think its moreso that Webby has supreme trust in proven players and as a match evolves won't perhaps adopt. Ford was gassed out there, but played 66min straight. Healy as all the ability to be a spark, but comes on for a near token 10min (similar to what any player in the number like a TMM would do I suppose).

When it works - great! But it does seem to have been found out a bit.
Yep, the Jackson Ford big minutes thing needs amending. He is so error prone. He should have been pinged for at least incorrect play the ball, and almost dropped a couple more.

I have to agree on this. Ford looked biggest after 25 minutes and we would do better if he had a break earlier
Yeah man. I get it, the guys on the bench are young, inexperienced, their motors aren't big etc...but Jackson Ford gets progressively worse discipline and handling wise as his minutes go up.

I guess we are hampered by the fact we have EIT, Demetric and TSS who we really can't trust to go over 30 mins.

Also, shoutout to the invisible man Marata Niukore who goes another week without criticism and really without being seen. Missed 7 tackles tonight

I always feel like Demetric gets subbed too quickly. He look fit and in control, I think he could start ahead of Ford

With every inch of my being I trust Demetric to play 40 minutes over whatever Whacko Jacko is offering beyond 50 minutes

We've said this before but Webby needs to prove his coaching chops more than ever in the next 3 weeks. This side has a serious, serious points scoring issue but it now also has a major right side defensive issue, that only resolved itself because the Dragons were fatigued and couldn't keep their shape.
Come on bro you are normally very measured and fair.

He has proven his coaching chops by getting this team into the top 4. The chops are done, ready to eat.

Has things to work on definitely, everyone can improve. He has coached us into the top 4 with a spine of journeymen, dudes a saint.

Webster is one of the best coaches we have ever had. Maybe he can do a bit better in how he uses Ford and the bench though.

7 missed tackles is a concern, but I thought he played well in terms of his carries

I'd also put those missed tackles into a context where there was lots of scramble last night and on that side in particular.

Comparing halves, second row, centre and winger-

DWZ/Pompey/Boyd/Niukore- 72 tackles made, 21 missed
RTS/CNK/CHT/Leka- 69 tackles made, 4 missed

I think people are reading this that I'm criticising Webby, I'm not bro, honestly. Of course he has proven his overall chops, to be top 4 with three weeks to go, no mug achieves that (except maybe Matthew Elliott). He's 3 years into a coaching career and may have 2x top 4 finishes to show for that, with a basket case club previous to him arriving

I'm not saying he has to prove he can coach. I'm saying he has to prove he can sort something out that is very clearly going wrong - ie our right side defense and inability to score points.

These next 3 games are very winnable, but they're also very loseable. We almost lost last night, an unloseable game, really. Injuries, yes, for sure but there's clearly something going wrong with the way this side is approaching games and it needs rectifying, which is why I mean Webster needs to show he can address that

One thing that stood out to me last night was that the Warrior backs were carrying the majority of the ball out of our half. Where were the forwards?
Without the head clash that cost the Dragons two players I think we were locked in for second place.
Also I think DWZ hasn't a clue on defence.
Looking at the table of Warrior coaches win rates Stacey is on the bottom, Why is he still assistant coach? Just reward for his playing days?

Webby's game plan has certain ingredients it needs to work, one of which is a gold class halfback.

We've only had that with Johnson (until his body caught up with him), Metcalf this year and flashes of TMM last year. It's a game built on completion, low errors, and kicking into corners - and when we get down their side someone needs to lay on the points. Without that person, we're only ever going to have close shaves week after week.

This is why even though CHT has his strengths, having a 6 that isn't a playmaker is a problem, we're relying too heavily on the 7 and Boyd is 3rd down the list.
