If we lose to the Storm by 6 and play like we did on the weekend then that's understandable but losing to a Souths side by 4 isnt very acceptable

I agree, worst game we've played since Mitch has been back and we have been much better but it's one bad game which happens to everyone and not in accordance with our current form

let's see how we go next week before we buy a new forward pack

I might be on my own here, but I'm not sure how 'great' a leader Paulo is - no doubt he has the respect of the team but to be honest, there are times when we have needed him to put his head down and lead by example with hard, straight running and he has reverted to trying to be a halfback in a props body, possibly even costing us points.

Taylan May is train & trial (although this is likely to change in the next few days because he is a gun). To be blunt, if by purchasing those players it forced a pea hearted pretender out of the club, Imm all for it.
I’d be the same too but the fact still remains that signing those players cost you Galvin. Price does not always equal value.
So according to you we have established the reason that Galvin "gave us the finger". Any clues on why after Rylesy put his arm around Lachie on a tour of the Kellyville hotspots that Galvin said f*#ck you to Parra?
Likely multiple reasons.
I hate Gus but he’s one of top salespeople in NRL. On the other hand we have some nuffy from Tigers.
Quite likely Galvin (or associates) is getting paid more than his contract amount.
If Galvin is a peaheart, he’s more likely to go to the team with better chance at premiership at the moment.
He’s a merkin.

But his reasons for not choosing us are unlikely to be same reasons for rejecting you guys.

We are in the positions we are in due to poor future planning, giving guys 4yr deals who didn't deserve it and POs along with poor talent identification and poor junior development.

No other reason. Unfortunately a few on here can't accept the facts.

I called it in 2022 when all these older guys where getting long deals that this is going to make things painful come 2024. It wasn't rocket science.

Unsure what the arguing is. These are the facts. Not opinions. Facts.

Not much we can fo about the poor coaching and management mistakes of the past. Let's hope we make better decisions moving forward.
This is the reason premiership windows close. It’s a normal part of the game. Average clubs like ours get a few years where they’re an outside chance of winning the comp, followed by a few years down the bottom. The only alternative for an average club is hovering around mid table forever. Looks like you are arguing we should do that instead.

The reality is I was told , can’t turn around the mistakes previously made in 12 months. Need a couple of players that are out on loan to move to create the funds needed to reinvest.

Decision was made to secure up to 12 of our elite juniors on contracts to the end of 2027, easy to see where the cash from RCG ,Gutho and others went, that’s a fact. To stop poaching from other clubs while we make our own decision
Awesome of Ryles to develop all these juniors in less than twelve months! Imagine if he had no quality juniors to re-sign. He might’ve had to keep the first graders he is trying to get rid of.

Apparently moves will be made more likely in October as clubs sort out retentions and cap. Not ideal but it’s opportunity we need.

Up to you what you think, but that’s the story.
It's true, Jim told me 3 months ago ....it's pretty similar to what he said in the TCT interview earlier this year....

This is definitely the better way to view things. It’s shit but it’s reality.

We mortgaged these seasons to get 2022, and then cowardly we doubled down after 2022.

Now we’re in the shit position where we’ve sold the farm to juniors hoping firstly they come good and then secondly when they do, don’t then screw us over for even more money.

I don’t think any are on particular significant overs just yet, but they are all untried and we’re at bottom of ladder so they all practically on overs, but they are also on longish term deals.

All this means is Ryles needs to prove he can develop them (or the player can be developed), and then if he does, how good are we at negotiating earlier re-signings.

It’s definitely going to be not boring the next 2-3 seasons

I wonder why we have to be average though. Why can't we be a top tier club? Yes we have the juniors and the CoE and home ground and lots of other things, but I guess one thing we have never had that might be the difference maker is the backing and support of rich, powerful and influential supporters. I reckon that is the key difference (or being in a one-team town).

And Junior. He is fat and slow and on big dollars. Simmo would of been on maybe 250-300k. He is a loss imo at that price.
Hands isn't the worse 3rd choice hooker option.
Simonsson is probably on more than Russell who does just as good a job.
He would be on less than Penisini, but while Penisini has some shit ones, I reckon across a full season he’s going to do more to get us wins than Simonsson would.
And comparing him to Lomax or JAC would be laughable.
So he’d really only be a backup which sure he’d be good for, but he clearly doesn’t want to be. So we’ll have to bear it for another season and a bit that our backup is Samrani or Papalii (who also somewhat fall into next category) or develop a junior to fill that void to a degree.
I don’t like fat shaming people but other than that I agree regarding Paulo and Hands

We took a gamble to try and keep together our grand final squad to try and “win now” but unfortunately for a lot of those blokes 2022 was their last hurrah and it backfired. I’m sure if we’d let go the likes of Matterson and RCG at the time there would have been fans blowing up as well.

The Moss fiasco I think shows it best. Having the most supporters means we also have the most opinions and more people unwilling to swallow their ego for the betterment of club.
Ask not what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club.

And when you see Ryles being frustrated and upset about it.
