Is this what you get as reward for slobbering about your mate Kevvie on 360?
Okay, this just confirms for me the NRL's true interest here. They are more concerned about recruiting Australian coaching staff back to the NRL in Australia, then developing the kangaroos brand. This also angles at the possibility of recruiting any English players that have a coaching relationship with the staff mentioned to aid in filling expansion squads here. I wish they would focus on instilling pride in being Australian and making players proud to represent our country. Then the origin passion will really flow through these test matches, because the historical connections and rivalry has always been there.

I don't like the rule in the above article of no club coaches allowed to be involved, that's why the Kangaroos job was between Walters and Channel 9 media personalities.

Give Bennett, Bellamy or Cleary a crack at it, let them use whatever assistants they want, why does it matter as long as everyone is happy and not showing clear biasedness?

Also, here's a cheeky starting 17 for the Ashes to build towards next years World Cup:

1. Papenhuyzen 2. Coates 3. Mitchell 4. Burton 5. Lomax 6. Munster 7. Cleary 8. Carrigan 9. Grant 10. Tino 11. Crichton 12. Young 13. Yeo (C)

14. Dearden 15. Collins 16. Cotter 17. Martin

Looks pretty good.

Barnett is injured. And are we picking Tino if he isn't guaranteeing that he will stay on for the WC? I would rather pick someone who is certain to be representing Australia next year.

Centre combination needs work. Burton and Mitchell both play left. What is the status of Fidow? Same as above don't pick them if they aren't giving a guarantee for the WC.

Regarding venue picks for future ashes series and kiwi 3 test series in England I’d lock in the 1st test in London(Wembley or spurs) then the 2nd test in Liverpool(Everton) for Australia and Manchester(etihad) for New Zealand then finishing in leeds for the 3rd test in the newly redeveloped elland rd.

wembley 90k
spurs 62k
everton 52k
Etihad 62k
elland rd 53k

What sort of crowds would the Kiwis get ?

If Tonga and Samoa averaged 15k, maybe 25k for the Kiwis ?

Kiwis should draw good crowds in 27 coming off a WC win. The english will want to see if they can knock off the WC champs.

They’ll never take two games to one side of the Pennines. It should be London or Newcastle, one in Yorkshire, one in Liverpool or Manchester. The issue we have though is the Yorkshire grounds aren’t the best. Elland Road is run down and needs renovating and after that you are looking at Hillsborough in Sheffield (another dump) or Bramall Lane, which at 32k is quite a decent size for England v New Zealand, Samoa, Tonga etc. We use Headingley a lot because the hospitality is great but as a ground it only holds 19,700, which is great for non-Australia but does feel a little “safe” when playing Australia. Odsal is hell on earth and looks like Pripyat and after that you’re looking at Hull, which is one of the better venues in Yorkshire.

If we were to play New Zealand in 2027, for example, I think we would look at something like;

Tottenham Hotspur - 63k or Emirates Stadium - 60k

Hull - 26k

Wigan - 25k

45k and 2 sell-outs puts you at 95k across the three games, which would be pretty good. You’ve got to look at approximately 125k attending the Ashes this winter.

He’s set for a huge pay day either way

If he stays in league he has the potential to be a top ten player

He’s got to cut the mistakes out of his game

He’s a lot like Reece Walsh either rocks or diamonds

But in attack he’s almost unstoppable

His current career trajectory he will play origin and he’s way more talented than suaali

Aru could’ve kept him for 500k but chose suaali at 1.8 million instead
