Cogger played more then just one short stint for us, cleary did his hammy post origin 2023 cogger played almost all business end of the season for us, he did the job starting for a number of weeks.

A lot of blokes not mentally checked in that newcastle team the last few years...
He played 13 games for the Panthers in 2023. Only 5x of those were at halfback

The rest were either at 5/8, hooker or on the bench.

He goes ok as a second fiddle in a team thats humming sure, but he is not a week to week half

He doesnt need to be a week to week half lol wtf are you talking about, it was Newcastle that was stupid enough to bring him in for that role not Penrith . The bloke did well for us already in the role we have brought him back for. 13 games is a lot for a back up half back with more than 5 starting in the halves, almost all of those in the back half of the season during a period we improved our position on the ladder, its the definition of doing his job.

This is true. But Cogger didn't take an hour to make a decision that was ultimately a poor decision. He made decisions quickly and many were poor. But even making a poor decision quickly can make a team better by atleast keeping the tempo of the game a bit more upbeat. But when he nails one we have time for it to work.

Schneider usually takes too long that all opportunities die with him and he ends up running and offloading or throwing a pass to someone with no time. If he just threw his passes quickly he would be on par with Cogger.

Exactly, Schneider was such a handbrake on our attack last year. There is no way he could come on in that 2023 GF and do what Cogs did

9 strikes me as an issue next year if we let Sommerton go. What do we do if Kenny does his ACL in round 1?

At this stage Billy Scott with Toelau/Cogger off the bench.

With Soni and Sommerton likely going. Its a bit bare after Kenny atm.

Kenny is soo underatted in what he does for our team.

Hes a real leader.. probably more so then moses or dyl or martin or too.

I was watching him last week and even 70mins of the most intense game of the season last week he was barking orders and yelling at blokes to get up off the line..

He is a future captain of the club i think more permanently when yeo retires and nath is off or on orgin duties.

Hed have to be the 2nd fittest bloke at the club.. just tireless.

Sure itd be nice to have a hooker that was a bit more creative but i think mitch knows his role and nails it 95% of the time and thats all we need.

We are a team that if everyone nails their roles then we are almost unbeatable at our best.

Penrith Have reportedly signed NZ prop Tom Ale. Very underrated players, i feel as though he could excel within the panthers system
Didn’t Gus Gould sign him to the Dogs from England claiming he was the best Prop in Super League? He actually goes ok, would be a good depth signing if true.
