I maintain we'd be a more competitive side this week (and in our potential "must-win" game against the Knights) with Hawkins at #6 and Lussick at #14.

Sure it wouldn't serve our 2026 development, but it might keep us away from a spoon.

I think too much is being made about our chances of "winning" the spoon. If Ryles doesn't care about having it on his CV because he's looking to the future, then I don't see why we should be getting bent out of shape.
We've already "won" more than half the other sides combined, so one more won't matter if he brings us long-term success.
If he doesn't, we just make an effigy of him and burn it from the Alfred St bridge...problem solved!

Okay so Jordan Samrani and Charlie Guymer on the Bench

Both backrowers and Samrani can play centre

I’m going to assume we have a centre or a backrower out if there’s a link to our bench

Talking Parra hinted that fox would be rested this week, as he’s 2 games from his 200th game and they want to make that a celebration in the final round at home vs Newcastle rather than have the milestone come up next week in NZ.

NZ seen as the more winnable game and JAC loves playing there, so the rest comes this week

Thanks Chiefy... the bench of De Silva-Guymer-Doorey-Samrani isn't too unusual? Only difference this week is Walker starting due to Moretti's injury and Samrani moving into Walker's bench spot

Unless you mean the Reserves 18-22 - there has to be a reason Lussick was elevated and not named in Cup....! Hawkins and Mataele also NRL Reserves but not named in Cup... though Dunster and Keir have been and presumably are on their way to NZ.

I still think Papalii and De Silva might sit out, Lussick and Hawkins in and Mataele 18th man.

Our cup team plays on Saturday in New Zealand. Probably why they weren't named in CUP just in case they are needed here in Australia due to an injury the day before.

they said that he hasn't had the opportunity of an off season training as a 6, are they wrong?

I've actually got some positive vibes about him, it also wouldn't surprise me if Ryles brings a specialist halves coach in over the summer.

I hope the specialist halves can do more for our halves, than Gasnier has done for our outside backs...
