Yeah weird penalty. But it means you\re incredibly fragile if a penalty down the far end ends your entire game.
I didnt think so
it was exactly why the disrupter penalty was brought in
To stop players from jumping early into contests with the intent to not actually compete for the ball but the baulk the other catcher
It was a text book disrupter, Bula leaps into the contest early and he's doing so only to disrupt Weekes and his attempt to catch it. It's not a genuine contest.

They should call it more but the CRACKDOWN is over so everyone forgets its a thing.

Yeah I honestly don't even remember their CRACKDOWN. I havent' watched a replay. I'm on holiday back in Oz and it's the second game all year I got to watch live (apart from Vegas baby!). Just looked like a guy penalised for jumping up with his hand in the air.

But I thought they lost because we just ate up everything they threw at us in attack and then got over them while playing at about 80% intensity. Packed GIO was really fun though.

Jamal Fogarty talking to the ABC after the game. Asked about Ricky resting players next week. I paraphrase -- Hope not, we've had 3 byes in the last 10 weeks. No need for that shit. Rather just keep winning.

He went up big levels in my esteem.

Straight talk from the Fog.

I know for a fact from other Ricky interviews he is still haunted by 1993 when Raiderps were best team in the comp by a mile... Final round leading Parra by 50... we win 68-0 but with 20 mins to go Sheensy calls Ricky off.

Ricky (being Ricky) tells Sheens to F off and stays out there. Suffers a horrific leg break and blows the entire season. To consider how sure we were to win the comp, see 1994 and consider Big Mal was even better...

So I'm genuinely curious if Ricky rests them as he's the boss or listens to Fog. Because I do think Fog has a fair enough point about all our byes being in the last 2 months.

Agreed.
Once we got up 18-10 i never felt worried, they didnt really threaten us at all.
We were a little off our game but as we tend to do, but we play down to opposition a lot, we found the gear required to win and for a game like this that's enough

It would be worrying if thats all we do, but ive seen us play the Panthers, Storm, Wahs, Dogs... and we rise to those occasions too. So all good
win, secure the JJ, rest up and lets see what this final series has for us.

No easy runs mate. half those teams are only out of the 8 because we beat them into oblivion. I don't think there's a team in the entire comp with a better record vs the top 8 / top4 and even some of our early wins were against last seasons "presumed" top 4 like the Wahs and Broncs when they had all the early season hype.
Yup, the only teams to beat us this year were the Eagles (R3), Cowboys (R4), Bulldogs (R10), Dragons (R22). Only the Dogs are in the Top 8. I don't see any of the so called heavyweights in this list. Sure, any team can win on the day.... but they just did not.

The Raiders are overrated
Anyone can beat the Raiders, until its time to actually beat the raiders

Pointing out wildly inconsistent implementation of rules is fragile?

Righto.

It was far more balanced and healthy to complain to the media after a win when you were given more penalties and restarts, but go on.

Biggest frustration is I’ve seen 6-8 disrupters this round and, of course, ours is the only one called And we frequently are. In fact every time we are the commentators laugh and say ‘oh is this still a thing’ like they did yesterday. You’re a raiders fan, you understand the plight of the ‘shit team’ when it comes to these types of things.

We had a try overturned earlier in the year on a "disrupter" when Savage got first hands to the football :D
I get the frustration, we see it happen 10 times a weekend and it's never called but that doesnt make this call incorrect

Context: response to poster saying that incident turned the entire game, after that penalty "that was it". So I'm referring to the Tigers team as fragile, not the poster or fans.

But anyway you get whatever you need to out of your system.

Whatever is the flavour of the month I guess. The ones where a player will just run through the area where the ball is expected to land are the ones that annoy me.

How do the officials tell 'intent'.

So long as they are getting the obvious ones it's ok, but like you say there were plenty let go this weekend.

If it's like other final series the referees will all just put their whistles away and we'll have 'grindball' for a month.

Yeah that call was probably a bit soft.

Turbo did a very blatant one against us a few weeks back and it was never called.

I thought the Tigers were lucky not to get a player binned in this game. I know we were playing for penalties and 6 agains but the Tigers were taking the piss with how slow they were getting off tackles.
