Ryles & his staff were fans of Ryley from the start of pre-season.

Its almost blind luck he stuck around considering his lack of any quality game time last year in reggies.

His not elite but he is a goer who puts in effort every week and improving.

Meanwhile the little shit who was supposedly holding him back in NSW Cup has managed 2 FG games this year at the club knocking on the door of the wooden spoon while there cup team are coming 2nd last.

It will be interesting what the new Knights coach does with the roster upon arrival.

I love his effort and he brings great energy to the team, but Pou isn’t wrong that he’s pretty average in terms of skill.

Best thing is he can probably get better, especially with his commitment and willingness to put the effort in.

He is ahead of TDS on effort alone at the moment, but I do think TDS has a higher ceiling. We just have to wait and see if he has the commitment and work ethic to reach it.

I think he has the capacity to kick 40/20s and force line drop outs. He needs to develop this. His run game needs to improve also as does his support play. But he is a bit slow so it will never be great. Also needs to add some niggle to his game and be more aggressive.

I have a friend who is a Tigers fan. He reckons the club let TDS go cause they rate another junior higher and he will be ready when Korisau is cooked. Club wasnt fussed on him walking.

He's got some quality dummy halves ahead of him. Ryley Smith doesn't. That's why he hung around. He's also two years older than Matt Arthur (and TDS), so he's closer to his peak.
