Lost of Chinese whispers around about discontent within the ranks, Flanno under a lot of pressure to perform etc etc. None of this may be based on fact but it doesn't take long for this stuff to get traction and people from outside and within begin to believe it...this then translates into players and managers having doubts about joining the club, and also juniors within the club starting to question the value of staying.

Management will say we're building with strong pathways, strong financial results, etc etc....none of this matters unless you have a winning football team which we've been waiting 15 years to see. The current management including the current board and football department, many of whom have been there for years and years, have not been able to achieve this..unless this changes, success will not come

Chevy Stewart playing full back for the Raiders in first grade this weekend.
The reserve grade wrap on Fox Sports was talking up his game up from last week.
We need a player like Stewart who could start on the wing and transition into the full back role.
Thumbs up for Ennis.
Smart operator with that winning mongrel we need at the Dragons.

Ennis.. meh. Hasn't proven anything as a coach (so far), and is in charge of Manly's attack which has been pretty poor for the most part this year. Genuinely would not have scored a point against roosters, raiders or tigers in recent games (three games in a row) if not for Koula.

I'm not saying he can't become a good coach or do a good job for us, but he's not covered himself in glory with Manly. I hope the criteria is more than "he's good mates with Flano" and "Manly were considering him for the top job", because:

1. Jobs for the boys needs to be put to a stop around the club; and
2. Manly are an absolute basket case in the front office and a sinking ship on the field as a result. They will be one of the worst teams consistently over the next 5-10 years I have no doubt. I do not trust their judgement on Ennis' capability whatsoever.

That said, if Ennis has a good relationship with Koula, then by all means bring them both over, because that would be fantastic.

Still don't know if we are going to sign him or not, i haven't heard any other team linked to him.
Watch him play his best game and create more interest like the Adam Doueihi situation.
Happy for Ennis to join.

Talk about player unrest and Webby saying more or less that Saints will find it hard to get a No.7 to join under Flanno based on what is happening. This could come from Illias' Manager hosting the show but Webby does not seem like the type of guy that gets told what to say and he is a passionate Dragons supporter. Hopefully that puts the Saints Management on notice as well as probably pointing out the obvious.

I am surprised Saints have not gone for Sandon Smith or Shibasaki at the Bronco's. Timing is bad now after this weeks off field drama for Shibasaki. Saints could do with both. Maybe Sandon straight away declined hence why Saints are not mentioned as a destination for him lately.

Can LKT play halfback, has anyone seen him play 7 in the juniors, or is he just purely a 5/8? I would like to see Kyle at lock as I can see him playing a Cam Murray role tbh. Once Cook retires then he can share the hooking role with Liddle.

Webster is correct.. what halfback would want to come anywhere near the joint? Imagine never being picked because the coaches son plays in the same position and "tries hard" which makes him first picked on the team sheet each week win lose or draw...

2026 will show us where Flanno Snr stands on the halves. He has always stated that Kyle wasn’t signed as a 7 but with BH going, options weren’t that great.

Realistically, a 6/7 of Atkinson and LKT for 2026 and Kyle as a 14?? I’ll keep my powder dry until at least the start of the 26 season

Then what to do with Cook (bench running back replacing Stewart when he's done)?

A lot (imo) will depend on what happens with Ilias. If he finds another gig then Cup halves will probably be Reed and ?
If he stays then I'm assuming 1 of the above Hypotheticals will be it for '26.

The hard truth is Kyle Flanagan is not a first grader and should not be in the 17 at all. His position is halfback, he's just a poor one. He is not a hooker, and he is most certainly not a 13 or 14. What does he offer as a 14? What variation/speed/impact does he bring from the bench?

I don't think I've seen a less agile spine player ever. He's just got nothing. He tries hard and he deserves recognition for that, but that doesn't qualify you for immediate selection. If Kyle is selected next season in the 17, that is a problem, because he doesn't deserve to be there. He isn't good enough. The way it's currently shaping up for 2026 the obvious best selection would be:

6. LKT
7. Atkinson
9. Cook/Liddle
14. Cook/Liddle

Kyle should not be there, he doesn't fit, simple. If he is there, the nepotism becomes more and more blatant. We all know he'll be at the club next year regardless. Given this, he should be the 6/7 in NSW cup, unless we sign another half or Ilias stays, in which case he should be the NSW cup 9.

Agree but the longer it drags out the more I think the chase is off
