How are these text messages released prior to the court case ?
It does not look good.

Will be interesting to see how texting about drugs compares to being filmed using them or similar substance.

Do Roosters have legal grounds to dump Radley given he hasn’t been charged? What would become of club attitude/standards if Politis doesn’t back up his words? Dump the dumb merkin

Its a blessing in disguise. Even if there isn't grounds for a sacking just force him out the same way any club would.

The Roosters need a big fish in the pack. Radley is doing this nonsense, has the concussion history. I don't think you'll be losing much.

Tell him to pack his bags and target a big name like Tino for 2026-27.

Any man too cowardly to fight for a position in his national side and run off to play for England instead is a weak merkin anyways.

So it’s pretty much exactly as I expected, the texts between Radley and Smith are what is being used as evidence to show Smith committed the atrocity of hooking Radley up with a dealer. It’s dumb, but hardly crime of the century.

The law and evidential purposes may say otherwise, but common sense says that Radley has done far more wrong than Smith (as I said previously). And when you see how mucb he has ordered, and the fact he says ‘sorted us out’ rather than ‘me out’, also infers the delivery wasn’t solely for the use of Radley. Wonder who else is in the ‘us’ group. And if it wasn’t only used by Radley, wouldn’t that then make Radley also a distributor….. of course there’s nowhere near enough evidence for the Coppers to chase Radley on those fronts, and there’s no value to the Coppers chasing Radley.
This is all about leveraging Smith to get at the dealers

These are the explosive text messages involving Sydney Roosters star Victor Radley that will be used as police evidence when South Sydney hooker Brandon Smith fronts court on drug supply charges on Thursday.

Smith is due to appear on Thursday at Southport Magistrates Court, where he will plead not guilty to unlawfully supplying a dangerous drug and using or disclosing inside knowledge for betting.

The police allege Smith supplied his former teammate while Radley was away on a golf weekend with six other Roosters players on the Sunshine Coast in June.

Smith was in Sydney at the time but is alleged to have supplied Radley with a contact for him to source “a dangerous drug namely cocaine” on June 7 - according to the summons obtained by this masthead.

No criminal charges have been laid against Radley. There is no suggestion that Radley actually obtained or took illegal drugs.

Smith’s phone was seized on August 9 at Gold Coast Airport. Police allege Radley’s number was saved as “Victor The Molester”.

Smith’s phone was one of several seized by Queensland police as part of Operation XRAY BON, which was tasked with investigating cocaine supply in south-east Queensland.

According to the evidence brief obtained by this masthead, Radley’s phone contacted Smith on May 30.

Radley to Smith: “G tee up your cousin in sunny coast for me. Little short ball. Short 8 ball if you will.” (The term ball or 8 ball is slang for an 8th of an ounce of powdered drugs, which is 3.5 grams).

Smith to Radley: Yeah sweet bro. I’ll give you the contact when I get it.

Radley: Yoza not till next week no rush.

On June 4, the exchange between Radley’s phone and Smith continued before departing on the golf trip.

Radley to Smith: Let us know lad

Smith to Radley: When yous going?

Radley: Tomoz morning

Smith: When do you want it?

Radley’s phone didn’t reply until June 6, when Smith provided the contact details of the alleged drug dealer in question.

Radley to Smith: Maybe Friday G

Smith (after supplying contact number): Just call him that’s xxxxx from Goldie number. He’s got people in sunny coast he said to call him and he will give you number.

Radley: Copy cheers lad.

The following day at 7.35am, the police will allege that Radley had a one-minute phone call with Smith. At 7.37 am, Smith attempts to call the drug dealer in question. At 7.40am, police allege Smith establishes the contact between Radley and the alleged dealer.

Smith to dealer: Hey brother. Yeah I’ll victor trying to call ya hahaa

Dealer to Smith: Yeah I’m calling my mate now.

About 30 minutes later, the police have evidence of another text exchange between Radley’s phone and Smith.

Radley to Smith: Sickc--- cheers brah

Smith: Sorted?

Radley: Yep cheers

The police also have correspondence from later that day between a man, who was arrested and charged with cocaine possession on July 5, and an unidentified person believed to be the original man entrusted with delivering the drugs.

Dealer A: Brother, would you drive to Coolum for a B (ball) + 250? It’s for the cheese (football emoji) no shot (shit).

Dealer B: Cheese (football)? Hahaha I’m booked in haircut at 1, I can after if needed?

Dealer A: Sweet. 900 for 2. Would ya do that after the cut? They are NRL players, bro you’ll know I’m (sic) as soon as you see him.

Dealer B: What happened to ball plus 250 hahaha

Dealer A: They double ordered

That same afternoon, at 1.19pm, Radley’s phone is alleged to have messaged “xxxxx from Goldie” - the original contact Smith passed on - and asked “Good for 2 lad?“.

At 3.07pm, the Gold Coast dealer provides Radley’s phone with the contact number for Dealer A after Dealer B failed to make the drop.

At 3.34pm, the text exchange between Radley’s phone and Dealer A commences.

Radley to Dealer A: 10 mins off

Dealer A to Radley: Sends image of GPS position of vehicle on Nicklin Way.

Radley: Happy Days. Am I gonna jump in with you?

Dealer A: Yep

Radley: Mad cheers bro

Dealer A: Hilux jacked Gray (sic)

Radley: Hektic cheers. 1 min off lad. Just coming through the lights.

At 4.43pm, about an hour after the alleged collection of the cocaine, the Gold Coast dealer, who organised the deal, messages Radley’s phone.

Goldie dealer: F... bro sorry about all that massive mission we are all coming down for the round 27 roosters vs rabbits.

Radley: Allgood bro you sorted us good man. Yep let me know if you need anything I’ll sort it for ya.

That exchange was preceded by an exchange between the Gold Coast dealer and Smith.

Goldie dealer: f**k bro was a mission today hey

Smith: f**k sorry bro!!!!!

Goldie dealer: Nah wasn’t your fault had drivers sorted then he dogged them, then they ended up going closer to where my boys where so they went and picked rads up and sorted looked after him real good. F**k I just feel shit cause I told him it was coming and then the c... never did, my mates went over and flogged the merkin after.

Smith: Holey f**k!!! Hahahah. Why did he dog?

Goldie dealer: Dunno bro said he was nearly there but wasn’t and didn’t even go. F*** poor rads waited for ages and I was telling him he was 10 away.

The police will allege that Smith “facilitated the supply of cocaine to Radley and organised it through his trusted associate with full knowledge of the transaction confirmed before during and after”.

Despite the defendant not being in the jurisdiction of QLD at the time, the police will allege Smith had full knowledge of the offences he procured to occur within Queensland and is therefore liable under Criminal Code 1899 S.13.”

Lmao

How do they not have burner phones? They are high profile.

The other question this raises for me is that Radley already knew Smith had a contact up there… how did he know that?

The thing is the media keep trotting this line out

No criminal charges have been laid against Radley. There is no suggestion that Radley actually obtained or took illegal drugs.

From the police perspective that makes no sense to me. From our persepctive, even if it was dumb luck due to the person not turning up, if he didnt obtain or take them then what can you do?

There are other messages in some of the articles that would appear to confirm he did take delivery.

Messages from the main dealer to Smith saying he eventually managed to sort it, after a load of mess about. Messages from Radley to dealer pre and post delivery. Message from Radley to Smith confirming it got sorted.

It’s cut and dry - but I guess buying of the drugs is of no interest to the Police, only dealing. And this is something I raised in some of my original posts on this, if there’s no confirmation Radley received anything, how can Smith be charged with dealing. Surely there’d have to be evidence a deal actually took place, or how do they charge Smith?
