If the roosters terminated Radley's contract, they would be able to go out and spend that money on someone else wouldnt they?
So essentially they're just terminating a quarter of his contract... but the fact they can use that money elsewhere, then bring him back at the business end of the season opens up a lot of potential for manipulation.
Like 150k could be enough to sign a guy like Joey Manu for the final 3 months of the season at the June 30 deadline....
Also, other clubs can't really do it for their players without the players agreeing to not being paid... so its no surprise the RLPA are involved, it sets a very dangerous precendence. Like is Radley allowed to go and work somewhere else for 10 weeks to bring in an income? Pay his bills etc? If his contract was terminated he would.
Why dont the roosters just fine Radley 10 weeks worth of pay and deduct it across the season like the NRL does? Whats stopping Uncle Nick pulling some strings and getting Rads a third party deal to make up the losses, on the premise of not telling the whole story?
The whole this sounds fishy. And the questions everyone is asking dont seem to be getting answered. Was Victor planning to do it all by himself...? Sounds like the roosters are proceeding with caution, wouldnt want him going rougue and spilling the beans.
