No chance the nrl will convince the clubs who lose home finals to agree

Clubs control the arlc and Pvl knows this

It’s either neutral grounds for all week finals for all teams or not

That would see out of state teams playing finals in Sydney

The current system works well for everyone and shark park will go back to capacity hopefully after next year

What miracle is about to befall Shark Park next year?

We have movement on the Leagues club, I don't see the actual stadium being fixed.

Parts of the ground are closed due to it being a building site

Capacity will go up ? 3k

Plus there’s loads more corporate facilities going in which I assume the nrl can sell

I still don't think that's enough for a cat 1 stadium. 20K should be a minmum. Taking the game to Allianz stadium where even back in the day against the cowboys

You got 32k at Allianz. Cowboys aren't bringing many supporters. So thats Sharks fans and neutrals filling out it.

Honestly, if Sharks can't get more than 17k to a game. Then why are they even in the competition?

How many home finals will Cronulla dragons or manly have anyway in week one ?

If Dino allows it sure it might get up but given how every nrl club loves to complain about others getting the tiniest of advantages I can’t see it happening

And fyi I think shark park is a dump but it’s their dump n and they like it. With the upgraded leagues club they are going to make bank from it

Plus the hotel the nrl bought was also due to it being next to a rugby league ground

I question that all the time. It's why I want to see them move 1-3 games a year to Allianz and not just be a Cronulla team. Try and attract fans outside of the Shire like the Dolphins do with Redcliffe but even mentioning that will upset some people.

If they just stay with the status quo they are just going to be left behind.

Yep. They could pick 3 games. Say the game vs Manly so both sets of supporters travel to the inbetween ground. Do this match up early in the season as a battle of the beaches.

Same with a matchup like Parramatta, another than should be early in the season.

I'd like to say the match versus Dragons, but I think both teams like having there special ground for that one.

So then Souths or Bulldogs at Allianz. Both sets of supporters are willing to travel. That could be later in the year towards the end of season.

I just want some of these clubs to think bigger. A bit of ambition is always good.

That makes absolutely no sense.

How much were the Sharks semi final tickets last week? They would want to be starting at $100 a piece to make up for it.

Last year Cat A were $90. GA I think was $50. It is the old do we want a half full Allianz or grounds like this to be used?

That is before you look at other stuff, Last week we would of had the 8th placed team effectively get another home game.

Allianz is unavailable this week anyway, so if Sharks snuck into 4th. They'd be hosting at CommBank or Accor

So you have the unavailability of the major stadiums too, Week 1 is fine.

Bulldogs fans.. the most fickle fans in the league almost. A couple of years ago, couldn’t get 5,000 people to their games.. now they’re experts on every other team

I doubt that. Most seem pretty content just sticking to their area.

Again clubs are greedy. Say Sharks play at Allianz regularly, what sponsors and fans are sitting there with no team just waiting for another side?

Yes the grant helps but clubs aren't broke so the community angle is working, so why change it?

I think it's more that they seem to focus more on the short term, rather than long term success. These clubs (Cronulla, Dragons, Manly, etc.) won't invest in something like I'm suggesting long term because it might cost them money in the beginning.

Imagine if one of these teams said 'okay for the next 10 years, we are going to take a game to Allianz against our rivals and build it up.' The first year might get an average crowd, but if they keep pushing it, the crowds will eventually get bigger and they would eventually make more money out of that game then if they were to keep it at Brookvale, Shark Park, or Kogarah. Instead they seem to be waiting on their suburban grounds to get upgraded which isn't guaranteed to happen.

What if in 10/20 years the Sharks are forced to move away from Shark Park because they weren't able to secure funding for the venue? Penrith got lucky with the money they were given.
