Cam sharks 2026

Thought would put this up.
Since Cam got injured we have looked a better team through the middles.
Cam has busted his gut for the club, but I don't think he suits our style.
I know the club has offered up Uele for other clubs, I actually think Cam might get more attention.
The forwards will need a refresh we have some good young players coming through who can do that 15 min stint, and there is always player that come on the market cheap.
It's just what I have seen and Jesse has made the 13 his

He'd actually do wonders for the Dolphins - they need a lot of help in terms of stiffening their defence and they have lost a few veteran forwards.

Problem is he’d be very hard to offload next year as the majority of the season will be over before he’s available to play after his recovery.

True Stake. I think Cam is the type of players player in his attitude and approach that has strong leadership qualities, but the game has passed him by. I can't see a spot for him next year in the squad. Can't see him taking the (c) back off Brails after a long period either so where does he fit?

The loss of Cam also coincided with the return of KL, which pushed Sifa back to the bench.
Throw in Tommy coming back a week or two before that and it's no wonder the forwards are dominating more.

But yes, it's hard to see where he fits in next year.
It was hard enough this year.

Regardless of how we feel I can’t see the coach doing anything that would be deemed disrespectful like offloading him early etc.

he’ll be here next year

after that probably not

There was a rumour Perth are interested in him, but was was suggested above re Dolphins that would make sense.
But yes his recovery time would be crucial, I just can't see where he fits at sharks unless as backup for Brails.

I think he'd make a pretty good 14. Has the motor to play big minutes but also provides cover for the halves and could give Brails a spell.

Would he be happy as a 14..
There is 3 clubs straight up needing forwards where Cam would fit in.
Dolphins
Knights
Eels - I am thinking Eels, I cold see him there with Rules to give them another of experience as there young forwards come through, he has DeBelin already and they are looking for experience

Not sure why this is a topic of discussion given the game we have this week.

Cam won't be the 13 again while JC is fit. I doubt he is extended and probably comes back at best in July/August 2026 for us. He will be a great leader in Perth.

Because we lose our Captain weeks out of the semis and we all agree there's no spot for him. It's been a blessing in disguise, no doubt.

I hope he gets back for a cam-e-o for us in the latter part of next season in whatever role he plays. Even if it’s just to justify his worth for a final contract at the Bears or wherever. In his defence… while he’s never been a superstar… he’s always been a heart and soul player who’s punched well above his ability and weight in effort and preparation on and off the field. If he does decide to hang up the boots I have no doubt that Fitz will find a spot for him in another capacity at the club. It’s very obvious that Fitz rates him very highly and rightly so.

I saw him locally the week after he did it. He was confident he was going to get through the rehab and be back early next season.

I think he still finds a spot on the bench. I can see us moving on a Uele or someone over the off season.
