I agree. He’s a talented kid, I think the Bulldogs were a premiership chance prior to signing him and bringing him in clearly messed with the team chemistry. Ciraldo couldn’t put the puzzle together. Looking at how everyone has performed this finals series the premiership was there for the taking.

Blew up their season

I thought they were favourites all year till I saw how the Galvin thing ruined their form

Ciraldo is still a good coach they will learn from how this year ended

yes... it was draw that was the Tigers problem, not them being a mentally weak rabble
Draw definitely contributes though

Souths played more top 8 sides before Round 16 than the Raiders did all season

You can only play what's in front of you though and need to win those games

Both sides deserved their top 4 status but a harder draw might have toughened them somewhat... kind of like what's happening to the Sharks right now. They had seasons like that abd were embarrassed in the finals, this year their draw was tougher and it's showing come finals

Is there any other example of a club that built themselves back from the bottom to be a legitimate contender, and then burned it down with a mid season recruit?

Interesting take and I can’t think of anyone.

They were flying without him and there’s no doubting that his arrival has resulted in a disconnect

If this were season 2024 with a strong Storm side and a Penrith side still close to their peak then you could forgive it. The window was wide open for the Dogs, they went all in and went bust.

Next week is going to be a cracker with broncos having their injured stars back and looking for revenge for 2023 and Penrith being in this kind of form

Ivan should rest Cleary and a few others from the 60 minute mark keep them fresh for next week

Loved Channel 9’s halftime news teaser.

“and Belmore awash with blue and white as the Bulldogs take on the Panthers”
(With footage of happy fans waving flags)
Canterbury fans will be newsworthy post match, don't you worry about that.
