Or the NRL should just bring in more rules to promote equalisation across the competition. Its pretty clear that the salary cap isn't working. You’re right. The NRL must limit Penrith to 12 players NOW!

Every nrl club has the same salary cap and grantOr the NRL should just bring in more rules to promote equalisation across the competition. Its pretty clear that the salary cap isn't working.
Why should Penrith get compensated just because it has access to one of the biggest junior catchments in the country and benefit from a huge pipeline of elite young players? It's basically a geographic advantage they have over most of the competition and the NRL needs to figure out a system where that talent is spread equally across the competition. If the NRL needs to take over running all that then go ahead. And they get no concessions from the nrl for all the players they produce

Unfortunately it doesn't look like a draft will ever come back so the NRL needs to figure something else out.
Looks like we will have to agree to disagree.Loads of clubs have big junior catchments and do sfa in terms of development
Why should dogs tigers get so many good first grade stars Penrith have produced
Yeh a draft is a stupid idea
Clubs who stop spending any money on juniors
The nrl already does too much to make clubs equal
Players Penrith have lost
Burton
Kikau
Korisau
Luai
Leniu
Fisher Harris

A bit like St.George in the 1960's.My point is there will come a time when fans are sick of the Panthers winning it year after year and will turn off the sport. Maybe that's 6, maybe its 7? It's fine to enjoy the success of the Panthers but there comes a point when its just too much and hurts the competition.
I don't believe there was the same competition for sports in the 60's as there is right now lol.A bit like St.George in the 1960's.
They usually drop after 11:30am from memory.Oops. Am In the right forum? I came here for the weekends ratings?
I suspect coast like was being ironic after you have dominated the ratings thread for the last 12 hours with ways to penalise PenrithThey usually drop after 11:30am from memory.
I figured, but I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt.I suspect coast like was being ironic after you have dominated the ratings thread for the last 12 hours with ways to penalise Penrith
I've been critical of V'landys but I think he brought a lot of positive sentiment to the game, which has proven to be invaluable. If the game looks like its growing and progressing then more and more people will flock to it, just like any market. This actually mirrors my real life anecdotal experience. I’m the early 2000s all this stuff about the AFL tsunami felt real. The swans and lions felt like they were making big headway whilst the NRL was struggling. The strength of union at that time only made things worse. It seems to me that we had a big dip post super league that we just gradually recovered from.
My question to everyone is why the sudden explosion particularly since covid? The growth we’ve seen for an established sport barely even makes sense.
I’m guessing it’s a few things combined. Rugby union is dying in this country and in recent years rugby league has been eating their lunch in a big way (teams like the rebels disappearing was a big help). Expansion was also a big moment, it brought an excitement to the game which frankly hadn’t been there for decades, I actually think this could be the biggest one.
Then you have the growth of the womens game, league seemingly being really strong on social media, League being well suited as a TV product (We seem to be doing really well on BVOD and kayo has been a boon for us).
I think it’s hard to narrow it down but we’re going through a ridiculous growth right now. I’m wondering if people think this is sustainable or if it’ll be brief before leveling out.
Critter, Hopgood, Katoa, Jet, May, Turuva, Capewell..Players Penrith have lost

Would’ve if they thought luai was goingCritter, Hopgood, Katoa, Jet, May, Turuva, Capewell..
The Panthers could put together a team of players they've lost that would win the comp.
Imo they should have fought harder to keep Katoa, big loss that one.
what a load of utter horseshit.Or the NRL should just bring in more rules to promote equalisation across the competition. Its pretty clear that the salary cap isn't working.
