Does anyone actually believe suspensions serve as any form deterrent for accidental high tackles, hip drops, etc?

Do people think the week off would make Carrigan go "hmm, if we make the GF, maybe I won't rush out as hard".

Please.

He 100% deserved a suspension under the system we've got, but I don't like the system we've got.

The NRL are definitely in legal preservation mode with their methods of acting on 'illegal' play.

It seems primarily aimed for future defenses.

Accidents in tackling being punished more than a headbutts, where the only thing the player is doing to trying to assault someone is wild.

Where is the logic in that?

*For consistencies sake I'm glad Walsh got what pretty much everyone has for the last few years but how about we sort this shit?

Presumably it started with a protected species getting a fine, now it's a bit hard to punish any player adequately for the same thing.

The NRL should rule a line under this and say any future headbutts are a send off and will get a suspension. They might occur in the heat of the moment but are not accidents unlike the rubbish suspensions for accidental slaps across the head or so called hip drops.

Penrith should fight it and hope it gets upgraded so he misses a game

The fact that it was a beeline for everyone to get in on the joke makes it even more bizarre that Ivan picks him. Only explanation is the Silver Fox is just waving his big old slug at everyone and no one has worked out yet that it's the ultimate flex, even more than just running with 16.

If Willison’s was in round 5 what would he get?
It would have sucked for him if he missed the GF, but that was an awful tackle and shit like that needs to be rubbed out.

That tackle on Garner is the worst of it's kind I've seen in years. Very lucky he hit him from directly behind.
