I'm a touch more nervous about this one than any other game we have had for a while. If Walsh has one of those days where everything works it could get interesting.

If the broncos rely on Walsh like they did against Canberra they are going to struggle

Just like Penrith were struggling when it was only Cleary that was carrying them on his back

Assuming they are fit to play, Reynolds mamm and cobbo need to come from injury firing and let Walsh pick his moments

Have Reyno Maam and Cobbo fired at all this season? Ignoring the fact they are coming back from injuries. Broncos only really looked OK when they have been gone and Walsh carried the team.

Reyno has struggled. Mam has been really good - particularly in those games against the Sharks, Wahs, and Bulldogs comeback. Especially the latter.

It's worth noting that we looked our best all season the 15minutes before the hamstring disaster.

Cobbo will be 18th man, no way that Karapani or Mariner lose their spots.

Madge is a good factor for Brisbane imo. It’s been 10 years since he’s been here but he’ll have Brisbane primed. More so than Kevie did. Being at home you’d think they’ll get a few tight calls their way too.

Brisbanes style plays straight into the Panthers hands. Brisbane need absolutely everything to stick or they'll get punished over and over.

This game was pretty much pencilled in the moment Broncos beat Raiders. I agree the winner of this wins the comp. I thought the same about Broncos vs Raiders in Week 1 too so I'll be consistent and stick with the Broncos. Walters is ironically their biggest loss though if Mam is right to go it's probably still an upgrade.

I agree, Madge is a coach who will extract an additional 5-10% out of a team for a short time. You bring him in when your premiership window is open because he can get you over the line.

If you have a hopeless team then you’re probably going to have a bad time with him.

For the first time in what feels like forever we have 2 prelims that don’t feel like foregone conclusions.

Should be an absolute cracker! Penrith look very menacing however have also played easily the 2 worst teams in the finals. They are somehow full strength again for the sixth finals series in a row against a hot broncos team with 3 -5 key outs. Carrigan and Piakura are the big name outs but low key Billy Walters is the biggest. He's been sensational since going to 5/8, doesnt over play his hand and just gives Walsh early ball.

Its a very unique situation for brisbane who lost their starting 6 & 7 and suddenyl played their best footy in 2 years, now the halves are back, do they walk straight in? What about Cobbo?

As others have said the mental scars from 23 look obvious, Penriths mid season run started against the Broncos in Magic Round when they were big under dogs. Reynolds looked completely shot that day.

Love the battle in the centres of Staggs V Mclean.

I'll tip Penrith on trust but nothing would surprise, big win for either team or extra time epic. The Premiers come from this game imo
They are only the two worst teams in the finals because they came up against The Champ.

Hopefully it's a cracking game and the winner gets through unscathed.

Penrith start off as deserved favourites. You know what you're going to get from them, they're the best team in the modern era for a reason and even with all the personnel changes everyone understands their role.

It's just a question of whether the Broncos, infront of a parochial Brisbane crowd, can put together their best 80 minute performance to end the run. Ever since Walsh has come back, they've just always found a way to stick in games.

Even in their losses, they went within a whisker of stealing it against the Eels. Then in the game against Melbourne where they lost three key players in the game, there were patches they were out-playing Melbourne, they just couldn't convert pressure into points.

They're not a perfect football team by any stretch and as a fan they make me pull out so much hair I've gone completely bald. However I'd be surprised if they don't trouble the scorers and they could very well beat Penrith.

Best of luck Panthers supporters, hopefully both our teams let it rip and we put on another classic.

For the love of God, can we play at least 2 Origin games in the day next year???
This year he was very poor. In the past he's been both good and ok for NSW.

Most of the blame is on him but almost all of his games for NSW have been under Freddy and Loz.....
