Yep Chevy is fine for a NSW Cup Fullback, i.e. a project player that might come off in time (noting that not going that well in cup).. but thats gonna be a Top30 spot given up which is a problem for us as we are still covering CT, Lawson, Sloan, Feagai etc yet.... and Chevy still doesnt give us realistic cover for Gutho.. no better than Sloan essentially...

i.e. We do need to land a Sloan (and eventually Gutho) replacement.. but we have to aim higher... whether its for 2026 or 2027.

I wonder if Lawson would have a crack at fullback if asked, good under the high ball, quick and good defender

Its more that Chevy has 4 NRL games, Sloan has 79 (and hes already on contract for 2026), so maybe Chevy does have the better ceiling, and maybe we spend 2yrs finding out.. tbh if I was really high on Chevy Id say lets gooo! But im rly not.. if it was someone like our Ollie Burton in a few more years (untapped potential).. or someone looking to move to fback like Koula, or a young gun fullback who has a few first grade games like Faulalo or a Votano.. but not Chevy imo.. different if we had a gun fullback and just wanted a project backup.. but we actually 'need' a proper fullback to come in the next 12 months... probably 2026 is Guthos last year at the back.. probably.

Ramsey and a couple of local junior wingers would do the trick. Spend our cap money on a marquee prop. Reed is our answer to the halfback proplem.

Watched Chevy play that game in NRL a few weeks ago and he had very little involvement. Not a dominant player that's for sure.
He is young, maybe has potential but not sure.
Will Kennedy still not signed by the Shark's, seems as though they can't offer him what he wants.
I would have him over Gutho however the money is already spent, I doubt they will or can afford to pay two fullbacks of there calibre.

Given is age, I doubt Gutherson is on more than 500k. So, I am sure that the Dragons can afford Kennedy and/or Lourie from Penrith.

I worry that CT will have problems with his hamstrings next season.

Zero tackle says Gutho is on 900k for 2025 then 800k for 26 & 27.

my gut feeling iss that he could be a no6 in the future Chevy

But is a strong back up for no1 for now

gives us room to move with Sloan

Me thinks Sloan could finally make it happen in defence come 2026.......maybe :)

No, Sloan is a player who is scared of the pain in the clash of a tackle.

He has the speed to chase down any kikck that Flanagan or LKT may put 30m downfield. Only, he does not want the impact while trying to compete for the ball or while trying to tackle the opposing player.
