He grew up in the Cooks and his Dad was heavily involved in the team, plus he would be a fringe Kiwi at best, so it's not hugely surprising.Iro has turned down england and the kiwis to play for the Cook Islands.
Doubt anyone saw that coming.
I wouldn't say fringe. He was one of the best center before he got injured. He wouldve definitely had a chance to start in that kiwis teamHe grew up in the Cooks and his Dad was heavily involved in the team, plus he would be a fringe Kiwi at best, so it's not hugely surprising.
Yup I noticed that too. Especially after the media said he was playing in the ashes. Which also gives me hope Tino might play for SamoaDolphins website states Hamiso has been ruled out of the 'Pacific Championships', which pretty much confirms he was going to defect (back) to Samoa.

His choice at the end of the day but I really hope that samoa never approach him again let alone pick him if he has a change of heart come being overlooked by the kangaroos due to age, lack of form or better players to pick from etc.
Bugger that. He is entitled to choose which ever he wants without external BS.His choice at the end of the day but I really hope that samoa never approach him again let alone pick him if he has a change of heart come being overlooked by the kangaroos due to age, lack of form or better players to pick from etc.
Kangaroos get $3000 per non world cup match as of last Pacific test series. They are the lowest paid of our elite national teams (Kangaroos, Wallabies, Socceroos, Cricket). Not sure what Samoan players get paid.Obviously the kangaroos would pay better wouldn’t it ?
he is indeed and so are the Samoan selectors who should send him packing if/when he comes a calling full of Samoan pride all over again.Bugger that. He is entitled to choose which ever he wants without external BS.
How does he choose if he’s Australian or Samoan? His first (?) game was for Samoa but he has previously said that when he had a choice to make he spoke to his family and his father encouraged him to choose Australia. Why should you stick your nose in and denigrate his choice?
It’s this chopping and changing national loyalty at the drop of a hat that makes international RL a laughing stock……..oops there I go again sticking my nose in on a internet fans forum board.Personally, I’m pleased he chose Australia - where he was raised and where his family encouraged him to play for regardless of external pressure to change his mind.
But if he chooses Samoa for the World Cup supporting his extended family, then so be it. Good on him either way.
