Man what a fantastic run we’ve had so happy to get to be a small part of it as a supporter.

No doubt we played poorly in the 2nd half and still it required 3 broncos tries that involved a fair bit of luck to beat us.

We may not be winning a premiership this year but our window is well and truly still open.

We should admire what they have done.
They are still the greatest team ever in the modern era.
Brisbane scored 2 lucky tries and the bounce of the ball went their way all second half. Penrith got no joy from the ref but it didn't cost the game.
I can only say thanks for the ride and bring on 2026.

Absolute terrible second half, we really got caught up in their hype, mistakes and penalties killed us.
im am still super excited proud of our season, this is our rebuild year, we will be back better than ever next year

What really killed us is not taking opportunities multiple times in that 2nd half. We were too content to just get tackled 5 out on the 5th without firing serious shots.

I know Pantherball is playing % football but sometimes you have to take some risks. And it's not all that risk taking a play 5-10 metres out on the 4th or 5th tackle. Whether we get tackled, or we knock on, it's still a play the ball, all the same.

What a season.

No complaints

Beat by the better team and not suprised.

Blaize amd casey will be twice the players for it next year..

Storm will win next week by 20 odd i think.

People will say this is the end of our reign... is it??? We lost by 2 in a tight match.. against a club over the cap..

We came from last 2 be almost another gf..

I heard a story about edwards a few years ago... a friend saw him doing the river run 2 days after we won the gf...

Boys will be back next year better then ever

Time to start making some hard decisions about retention. Many players over 30 next season .. the age, plus our energy used to get us here took a toll this season, but for the love of God why were we so conservative early in that 2nd half ???

I was happy to just finish inside the 8 after round 12.
Making a preliminary and losing by 2 is a great effort from that point.

Having no home ground, and under going a rebuilding made it our hardest defence.

We won 4 straight an achievement beyond my wildest dreams.
Oh, and at least we knocked out the Dogs. My favourite moment of season 25.

There was far too much spin it out to Nath, he will do something. Broncos just ate it up because it was so predictable. You knew that Kenny was going to pass it to him every time. Nath was on the left edge far too often and because neither Blazie nor Edwards ever positioned themselves opposite on the Right Broncos defended with ease.

Our old weakness of attacking a set line 10-20 metres out reared it's ugly head.

Having a passenger 5/8 and a fullback with limited playmaking ability also hurt.

If there was a silver lining to this loss is that it will force a reassessment of the way we attack and also how we structure the bench. Patea and his offloads would have really helped at times.

I thought we were the better team, if only by a little bit. Similar to several games this year, we just didnt have the bounce of the ball when it mattered. Their first two tries were very lucky, and Casey's intercept offside call was marginal at best. Then there were several 50/50 calls that could have gone either way. We should have put another try on at some point to seal it, but when you concede a try from a deflected kick and a lucky knock down you just have to accept it wasnt meant to be.

I think our bench really bit us in the end. Theres this idea that having a 14 who only contributes to cover the spine is the safe play, but like everything else its a matter of trade-offs. In this case, we had a back rower go down early and our entire forward rotation was off. In the end, that little bit of extra juice we lost was the difference. People need to remember this moment the next time we hear about needing cover for our spine.

I thought a few of our big players looked gassed, Yeo, Too and Edwards in particular. There was a criminal lack of urgency for the Willison try from both Yeo and Martin. I know Talagi is getting a lot of the blame, but his mistakes were far from the most criminal we saw. We cocked up the final play monumentally too.

Its hard to be too disappointed though. We've had an unbelievable run and made something out of a season that looked like a complete train wreck at one point. In reality, we saw that first two months of the year come back to bite us. We had to play too hard for too long, couldn't refill the tank in the back half of the year and hit our red line just when we needed a bit extra to pull us out of the fire in a game that didnt really go our way. Ivan and the boys deserve huge credit, and 5 premierships in 6 years doesnt ring too badly anyway.

Brilliant response.

Brisbane were good and deserved the win. Sorro injury was unlucky but these things happen; we got the benefit of a Welch HIA in the 2021 prelim. Great to have the streak ended by a good team in a great game where we played well.

The team will be better for the result today and a few will get some experience in big games.

Well nrl got what they wanted by knocking us out. Some of those ref calls smh, obviously rigged, just like origin is. Makes me want to give the game away with the the way they ref against us. How was McLean offside? How was Mamm not penalised for the Cleary late hit. Different rules against us. Plus all the whinging from every opposition team. Dummy halfs constantly pleading for penalties, players staying down etc pisses me off. Old school players would laugh at these b*tches today. The Panthers don’t do it though, no cap. Anyway always proud. Greatest team ever.

Re bench. My only complaint about the bench was that if Schneider is going to play that role it really only works if Ivan is content to let him play hooker for extended minutes, to allow Kenny to go into the back row.

I think 14 and backrow are our only real question marks going into 2026. In two year time we will also need to think about who replaces Yeo. Get those three areas right and we can sustain the type of results we have seen all decade.
