Jury still out on Joash being a 5/8 for me so could slot into centre as too good a player to be left out of the team. Iongi is a 5/8 turned into a f/b so Fa'alongo would improve the team overall imo. All speculation of course unless actually happens.

I think so far he's shown that he can come in and fill a spot in case of injury. Not sure he's too good to be left out of the team. While he's been defensively good for a small half, he'd probably be a liability at centre. Defending next to a half will put more pressure on his defence. He also goes low a lot which allows a fast play the ball, teams would just roll through his edge.
Hopefully he has a huge offseason and plays well in the 6 next year, if not he's a good back up in case Iongi is not available

As you know a good system improves D, just look at Blaize Talagi. Couldn't tackle at Eels, is now at least passable and probably be even better next year.

Passable? The past 2 weeks he made 39 and missed 16.

As you know a good system improves D, just look at Blaize Talagi. Couldn't tackle at Eels, is now at least passable and probably be even better next year.

I expect him to be better next year, but if you thought he was passable this year and not last year, your cutoff must be between 81% and 82% effectiveness, because that was the difference between 2024 and ‘25 for Blaize Talagi. The other major difference was that this year he played in a team that could usually cover his mistakes. Last year he didn’t.

I would say Lomax is good as gone if i was basing it off what Ryles has said.

Not really. He can coach them to use that play, but it’s up to the players when they choose to do it. It’s a judgement call by the players on the field.
