I like Gus, and he's a 100% Rugby League man

Gus has the best interests of rugby league at heart. He just gets frustrated when he feels the NRL are going down the wrong path (eg rule tinkering without realising the consequences and random rule crackdowns which disappear as quickly as they appear.)

And don’t get me started about pedantic refereeing. As I said in a previous post Belinda Sharpe’s NRLW refereeing performance was great. The ball was in play for long periods with minimal set restarts and penalties. This should be the refereeing template not just for grand finals but for ALL NRL matches. The spectacle improves dramatically when that is the way matches are refereed.

Gus will do anything he can to get his current employer on top, both on the field and in the press regardless of its effect on the game's wellbeing.

Thats why fans of his current club love him, fans of his previous clubs understand him and fans of other clubs dislike him.
