Out of the 4 mentioned, I think Crocodiles is the best. We don't have any reptile mascot so far, and it suggests a green-based color-set which is an under-used color - maybe green & brown?

Chiefs opens up a name clash with the Super Rugby team, and it's another NFL name being plonked into NRL.. with the Dolphins, then Bears already confirmed & chance the Jets may be the 3rd Brisbane team I imagine the NRL will want something distinctive for PNG.. and now the NBL doesn't have Townsville Crocodiles anymore, it opens that name right up.

Pythons is a rough outside chance.

Surely Angels won't be it, that's by far the weakest of the four.

I don't think a late kick off in NZ is a big deal. It'll still sell out twice over and rate it's tits off in NZ. Obviously it would be better if there was an alternative or a bigger compromise.

It's a massive win for NZRL anyway you look at it, it'll be a massive buzz for the game across NZ. Staying up late to watch the League in NZ is starting to be part of the culture anyway, especially given the GF is played at 11pm on a Sunday night..!
Hopefully that changes soon!
Sunday afternoon GF is gathering support and hopefully is implemented before the Warriors make it.

Is that signed officially? Couldn't they just negotiate to move Perth to 2027 and give Auckland 2028? Seems counter intuitive to promote the game in NZ by having the game in Auckland but then playing it at a time where many (including the youth who we want to promote the game to) won't be able to watch.

I hate nine but if it means we get heaps of money then I’ll live with them getting everything and Foxtel nothing

They’ve always paid afl more for their tv deals from the money they underpay us

Foxsports is paying AFL 418 million pa and we outrate them by close to thirty percent

They currently pay us 250 million pa
