Im just saying, your arguement is that the irish brought it over.Who cares, it's called the All Ireland Gaelic Football Championships, just one example of the use of the term in Ireland.
the irish who settled melbourne came in 1820–1850. The GAA probably started in 1880-1900; god knows what year the english name for these games became famous and even then, why would the irish be using the English name?
