What a ride

While some may call him a stubborn prick, others may call him a history making coach that has done something that no other NRL coach has done nor will ever do.
We all have respect for Ivan and forever grateful for what he's done , but times have changed . We are still the best 50 to 60 minutes team in the comp , we aren't the same team , age , certain players playing to many minutes , we aren't buying new players so we have to adapt to what we have , The titans , raiders , storm showed we have 2nd half fade , Nathan's admitted this , Ivan and coaching staff will hopefully fix these problems.

The next 5 years will truly define our Club and the coaching career of Ivan.

Was the 4Peat a flash in the pan, a confluence of factors such as a cracker squad of young juniors all hitting their straps at the same time, at the beginning of the 6 again era? Or was it more?

Only Time will tell, but even if it was 'flash in the pan' it was a hell of a ride.

My feeling is that Ivan will have to adapt significantly. This 'grinding' style is no longer quite as effective as it was - because our squad, particularly the 'core' is no longer young. The style also has the effect of 'grinding' our own players. Edwards, Yeo and To'o all appear to be tired and were well down on their previous form. And they are not getting younger. At the same time there are other teams challenging that are younger and fresher. Raiders, Roosters and Broncos come to mind. Competition for the rest of this decade will be increasingly fierce. If we can jag one or two in that period, that will cement our club and coach as true greats and a force going forward.

As hard as everyone worked and planned we did fluke a generation of players coming through at the same time

4Peats are never a "flash in the pan" by the very definition. More a fire that continued to rage far longer than many were comfortable with.

It could be just an insane run of excellent form, some other factors and some luck.

Players can have stretches of God like form, why not teams? Though with teams it is far harder to do, especially for so long.

Like I said, the next 5 years will really tell the picture. Did we squeeze all the juice out in these 6 years? Or did we nurture a sustainable high yield tree?

Can't disagree with that. A flash in the pain would be a glimpse of hope. We struck gold.

Most would argue you can't luck your way to a premiership, let alone 4 in a row.

What we have just witnessed won't be happen again in any of our lifetimes.

Won't rule out 2026 because we are an incredible team. But it will be very tough just like this year. Even with a better off-season we should see other clubs improving too. Depends on the strength of the top 30 squads across the board.

2027 my crystal ball says yes. Our recruitment needs to be shrewd however. Team 18 will arrive and they will siphon plenty of talent. Hopefully from our main competitors.

2027 also because we will have a new home ground. It did wonders for the Parramatta Eels when Commbank arrived.

A four peat in a salary capped comp is unheard of.

2024 alone gives Ivan a place in the coaching hall of fame.

The 2024 finals series was a coaching master class.

Ran the same shape three times with a different variation resulting in a try each.

2021 and 2022 our talent was way above the competition.

2023 was all on Nathan and Critta going God mode.

2024 was Ivan's masterpiece.

Not complaining here but the 2020 and 2025 exits are also on Ivan and his bench/team selections.
2020 either drop Naden or back him completely
2025 playing a man down every week finally caught him out.
Anyways he's in the top 2 coaches in my lifetime alongside Wayne Bennett. Bellamy is a cheating dog

Its a shame really because Bellamy is a good coach. They still win a comp or two if they let Inglis go in the first place. Could've even taken responsibility after the fact but they still celebrate it like nothing happened.

Fair he's always had a top Storm roster. Ivan took the warriors to a gf not to mention 2014 that was one of the biggest over achievements in the game.
The Moyza show baby. The most talented ballplayer I've seen in a Panthers jersey....what could have been.
