Apart from the Storm and Panthers in recent years, is that the norm though? I mean, most teams do have that window and maybe it's one Premiership, maybe it's a couple in a 3-4 year period, but then they cycle out.

Maybe a club like Brisbane didn't used to be like that, but maybe the norm is that they will be and that's the accepted thing now. I think they're good enough next year to make the 8 easily.

Or maybe that's an Eels fan who would take 7 straight wooden spoons happily if they came after a Premiership year....

Im not talking about subsequent premierships necessarily, most premiers give the next comp a shake and make top 4. I think in Brisbane's case they are happy to get the 1 while the window was there, especially after 2023.

They will make the 8 next year for sure, just not sure they will be any better than that because quite frankly they weren't this year and madge is going to have to sell them a different narrative next year.
