Never thought i would see an old school RL footy score again but overnight in the final of the English RL Championship - York Knights scored 2 tries to nil vs Toulouse Olympique and still lost 8-10. Toulouse kicked 5 penalty goals to win the game playing away :D.
The main reason I stopped watching Rugby years ago was to do with the word "try". It derives from the so called "Laws of Rugby" that the object of scoring a touchdown (for want of a better term) is to earn your side a try at kicking a goal. In other words, kicking goals is the main reason to play Rugby and scoring tries a mere means to an end.

No thanks.

That's exactly what happened and I can't believe that players are still not coached to keep the ball pressed against their chest when they are over the line to mitigate this.

I reckon they all will be in the pre-season...
I also can't believe players [ie. Katoa] don't know, you never run in, towards your support {ie. Papps} that just allows the defender to fade off & defend the supporting player.
He should have veered to the right side, slightly away from the inside supporting player & that would have opened up space for Papps, making it impossible for Walsh to slide off & take down the supporting player.
This is something I see ALL the time.

Alimoti would be a great signing. But its time to pull the trigger, i would try to sign Pezet on a three year deal for 1 mil a year. Also as big as a risk it maybe i would also try and land big Nelson. If we do not take a stand now its going to be very hard to pull back ground to pull back especially with 2 new teams entering.
With Pezet, Alomoti, Nelson, Kerr and others i believe we could be a top 8 team.

Forget pezet stopping suggesting him. Do some research why it won't happen

He can whinge about the Dragons as much as he wants but as a manager taking a cut, there would almost certainly be some contract value at which he'd change his tune.

Just got to make sure the number is big enough for whoever Braiff has pressing the keys on the calculator for him.

I know that Anasta is his manager and he is not happy with the way illias was treated.
But when descent money is put on the table I think the mindset would change.

Exactly my thoughts. It's a money game for managers and agents. That's how it works. they will go from worst enemy to best friend in the blink of an eye if the money's right. Just depends on whether the player wants the move.

I doubt Pezet even leaves storm right? Maybe 1 year loan somewhere. I reckon the smoke around Munster going to Perth is legit. Remember Braith manages both of them and Pezet wants to play for storm. He signed that big extension only last year. Munster was close to going to the dolphins I reckon he sees going to Perth as a great opportunity to set the foundations of a new club like the Bromwich brothers and Kaufusi did.

I don’t know if getting Pezet for a 1 year loan is the move. Sure he makes us way better next year but we are back in the same spot the following year if he goes back to the storm. Would rather we give Lyhkan a go with Atko. Look at when Harry Grant went Tigers. Came 9th and have been terrible ever since.

You're older than you look. ;)

Rugby School codified their version of football in the 1840s. This was well before the second schism (the first being from soccer in the 1860s) and back when it was simply referred to as Rugby Football. Rugby Union (1871) and Rugby League (Northern Union, 1895) came later.

And tries became worth something on the scoreboard in the 1880s. Again, this was before the second schism of 1895 when the Northerners finally told Rugby School to gf themselves.

I have mixed feelings about lending players between clubs. The club that owns the player benefits from their player gaining experience rather than sitting on your bench or playing reserves and when a spot opens up you slot them in ready to go with first grade experience care of another club.

The club that loans him hopefully benefits but it's a bit of a sugar hit as they don't have him the following year and all you are doing is getting the player ready for another club. Yes if they don’t work out you hand him back, but also provides an insight to the club that owns him whether to persist with that player or not renew their contract.

Maybe having an option of loan to buy is better like they do in soccer. At the end of the day the Tigers got bugger all benefit from having Grant for 1 year and all the upside was for the Storm.

Yup this is my view, if we were "all in" on pezet as our marquee man on 800k+ then im sure it would begin a conversation.. hes obviously going to be playing on that coin..

However I dont see us going all in on a young half like this even though hes been good so far and done a lot of his apprentiship already... we dont roll like that.. and we wont be getting him for market value.

If Pezet is officially off contract which seems to be the case, someones gonna land him though.. someone who can guarantee first grade... how much are they going to pay is the key.. and knights already bought their halves.

Surely the Eels will be favourite for Pezet. The Ryles factor as well as Dylan Brown leaving the spot open.

Saints only hope is that Pezet played his juniors at the Storm with Atko and hopes to get a reunion with him. Plus Saints throwing in huge amount of dollars his way.

Why would Alamoti leave the Panthers? Sounds crazy to me.

Absolutely agree.

All it does is further magnify wealth gap in the NRL and that the top clubs can not only fill their team full of rep players but also can hoard the next era at the same time while other clubs can barely hold onto a promising junior.
