This is the 12th time it has happened since 1980. Happened in Trump's last term and the shutdown lasted 35 days (longest so far). Government was shutdown for 21 and 16 days for Clinton and Obama respectively.

I'm all for checks and balances, particularly for someone like Trump. But whatever model they have at the moment seems horribly inefficient and prone to a bit of f**kery.

Doesn't speak well to his domestic Presidential abilities, if he can't even get the numbers in his own party to pass his budget bills - again.

Time will tell if Israel sticks to the bargain and stops indiscriminately bombing Gaza and all of its neighbours across the previously agreed borders. Or whether warmonger Bibi can't help himself - and Trump's effect ends up negligable.

I don't think hamas has the capability to launch any significant attack, so it would be more than likely bibi breaks the ceasefire.

They are losing support globally and risk being cut off from trump funding them if they f**k him over here.

The only thing stopping that is kushner and ivanka. He listens to his kids.

Bad assumption. There are lots of other countries outside of the US. I was thinking UK who imo do comedy better than the US.

Also, any list of largely US comedians that doesn’t acknowledge Bill Hicks is grossly flawed. Dreadful list!

He isn’t interested in playing nice and collaborating with the other side.

I think that’s a dumb strategy, but he is of the view that he can just bulldoze his way through. For the most part he eventually gets what he wants or he changes his mind and moves on to something else that he can f**k with.

It’s an interesting form of Diplomacy. Not one I’d recommend!
