The calls in the 4th were absolutely ridiculous
Fairly unusual for calls to go that one way in a quarter in such high leverage moments

but even though we absolutely win this game without those calls, I can’t blame them either. I am firmly in the camp of that stuff evening itself out over a season. Everyone can shut the f**k up about 0.1 second false starts on brotherly shoves for a week when we get about five 4th quarter calls against us that all should have gone the other way… but that’s how it goes sometimes. 17-3, this game shouldn’t have been one in which officiating could impact

play calling looked like it was trying to correct a narrative instead of winning the game. Well congrats everyone! We proved we can pass the ball more and lost because Saquon had 6… SIX runs in a game we lead almost start to finish

but yeah ultimately this loss is something we need. The team was not playing well but winning and a loss like this should be the catalyst for us to make some changes to the offence because it’s been too uneven

giants on a short week is a good opportunity to get the ball rolling there and go into a mini bye and try and get it corrected

They need someone to come in and help Patullo out
The Patullo - Brian Johnson vibes are getting strong and stronger... Hopefully the Eagles see it before it's too late.

There is not a lot going right for them offensively right now, but it starts with Patullo. He's doing what Mike Lombardi used to call "battleship" offence... there is no rhyme or reason for his play calling, nothing leading up to anything, there is very good stuff on twitter from a guy who's deeply invested in the Birds (i belive he used to work in the coaching staff for the Birds) and breaking down how pointless their use of pre snap motion.
Lane Johnson is talking about how predictive the offense is.

So there is a lot going on for them, very has the 2023 vibes right now, they can let it spiral and fester as they did in 2023 or they can be proactive and make changes. The Eagles OC spot is fast becoming the Hogwarts Defense against the dark arts role... no one gets more than a year
either you come in, do a good job and the team is incredible and you're a HC next year
Or you come in, the offence looks like shit and they sack you after a year.

But it maybe that this team just doesnt have it this year, which would suck but also, we just won a super bowl 40-6... we'll all live if its a bit of a down year

These two posts are bang on imo0

Just finished posted that, and went doom scrolling on twitter and found even that brain dead idiot Acho has videos showing how predictable the run game is...

So we can have conversations about the:
the QB, who isnt playing to the level he played at last year in the play offs
the WRs, who are jogging routes when they are routes that are unlikely to see the ball
the iOL, where Steen has been a downgrade on Becton and both Dickerson/Jurgens are playing significantly worse than last year (which i think is mostly due to injury)

But as far as the offence goes... if some knuckle dragging idiot like Acho is picking this up, it's catnip for actual NFL defences... and that's not on players or execution, it's on game planning and play calling.

Need a pocket passer.

In what era of the NFL do you think you're watching? All the rings are being won by guys who are mobile, can extend plays and make plays in the 2nd phase.

Traditional pocket passers like Purdy, Burrow, Prescott, Herb (though he's running more now this year, to great success) continually come up short when it counts. Defensive game planning ratchets up and they consistently found out because they dont have the athleticism to have a plan B and win other ways.

The guy we have now has been to two super bowls in 4 years, and outplayed Patrick Mahomes in both of them, and is the current reigning SB MVP and is a ticky tact holding call away from being a 2x Champion and SB MVP.
He's proven that with a creative offensive scheme that actually puts players in position to succeed, that he's not only capable of being a SB winning QB. He's capable of being the best player in that game, multiple times.

MM would be perfect.

I think he's the type of bloke who wants to be scheming up plays rather than managing full operations of an enterprise.

Plus I reckon it'd be atleast three years before anyone would want to make him a head coach again.

Patrick Mahomes is excellent pocket player (sucks this year and big reason for chief's results). Around him Brady and Stafford won Superbowls. Run game got eagles to Superbowl. When that doesn't happen we see how reliable hurts is throwing ball.

And the run game was shit in the SB. That game was won, and dominated by Jalen Hurts.
Throwing and running.
And when it was time to hit the kills hit... the dagger. He didnt piss down his pants like niners qbs.

Patrick Mahomes is a completely different style of player to Brady and Stafford, neither of those guys are the athlete who is willing to move the chains with his feet the way Mahomes does, nor do they have the second reaction plays that Mahomes have. That's what is required in the league, the players who can do that are the ones winning the rings and MVPs

But since you want to talk pocket passing:

Anyways it’s great to see a niners fan rooting obsessively for the eagles demise
Sure beats the f**k out of waiting for them to actually win something that you don’t need a VHS player to watch

Wait, Lamar led that pocket passing stat?! Sounds legit. Mahomes scrabbles, so did Rogers. Neither are read options. When tush push is banned eagles fans will be baying for blood.

Doubting a pocket passing stat because Lamar led it in the year 2025... you could not be more obtuse if you tried.
You legitimate have no idea what you're talking about... arguing about Hurts who's somewhere between the 5th to 12th best QB in the league, pending the year and form, is one thing

Lamar Jackson? Goodness me. Learn ball, bro.
Lamar is a phenominal pocket passer and has been for at least 3-4 years now lololol

Lamar is close to the best regular season QB to set foot on a field.

Doesn't bring the same level to the play-offs but his team mates haven't helped.

If he had his own Kelce/Edelman to make plays in the post season he'd have a ring or two.

Lamar is so good when he can't run anymore he won't be in league

The hate against Hurts is so ridiculous, it is meaningless. He has tome and again made the plays when he needs to and is teigning SB MVP.

On the Payltullo stuff, its clear he needs to go because the scheme is disastrous. Maybe im underselling how hard being an OC is in teh NFL but when you go to teh SB champs, what is so wrong with doing similar to last season.

They are just too predictable and he tends to run when he should pass and vice versa. Saquon is getting stuffed often so that means the box is being crowded and he needs to run play action and/or RPOs and things will open up.

That giants loss was disastrous and if nithing changes now then it will be too late in the season before it does. At 4-2 with a brutal schedule everything is still in front of them.
