Miami win - just. Miami founded 1966, Redcliffe renamed to Dolphins 1968True, Redcliffe vs Miami.
1947 – The Redcliffe Peninsula Rugby League Club club is founded … The first club unofficial club emblem – or at least nickname – was the ‘Shellgrit’, no doubt spawned by the abundance of shell grit on the peninsula’s beaches.
1960 – Redcliffe is officially accepted into the Brisbane Rugby League premiership, with the club known as ‘The Seagulls’.
1968 – The club takes on the name that has made it famous across Queensland, Australia and now the globe – The Dolphins.
Agree. Don't know if league teams have tried it but alot of soccer teams their supporters have relationships with clubs in other countries where they share the same colours or mascots. Good way for league teams to build awareness of the game in other parts of the world, especially the US where there are common mascots/names.Pfff.. team mascots repeat in all sorts of sports all over the world mate, there's 8 billion people, we're going to overlap on things.
Very cool name, did they reveal the logo?
it would be cool to acknowledge it like the bulldogs do with berries or the roosters with tricoloursI think Redcliffe should go back to the Shellgrit
