So the " Lucky" new teams will have months to assemble a roster, have more traveling expenses while receiving no money to play in a comp where they get flogged every week..

If your goal was expansion, you'd give them the most money.
You'd probably give them enough time to build a competitive roster too.

It’s not justified but the clubs can say no

They hope with 14 teams they can get the super league tv deal up next year and then give them funding so it might be short term

They still may not even add the two extra teams either

English rugby league has a long history of not giving expansion clubs their full share of tv money (Gateshead, Toronto) or making expansion clubs pay for travel (Catalans Toronto)

It’s justified by the comp not being able to afford to give them the grants.

now if the comp should expand when not having the money to pay full grants to everyone is another matter.

they are gambling that a 14 team comp will lead to a better tv deal for 2027 onwards and everyone getting bigger grants then

May even have ranked tenth ahead of cas hudds and Salford

Hudds almost missed out to toulose

London are a lock for one more spot if they expand

I’m happy the bulls are in super league. They are a big club and super league isn’t big enough to not have them in it
