What attitude?
You're going to need more than random sentences if you want people to know what the f**k you're on about.
At least I know you're not AI, it's never been this unsophisticated.

You defend huge wealth discrepancy as meritocracy. I pointed out that is thinking of billionaires like Elon who believe they are sublimely talented and deserve position and wealth even if leaves the rest of people poorer. You countered by calling me Bernie I'm guessing because you think anybody who questions system which hands wealth to a few as communist. I pointed out without left wing workers movement which challenged elite rugby league wouldn't exist.

The best players in League get paid the most- meritocracy.
I used dumb identity politics to discredit you as a reply to you doing that to me.

So png should be deprived of an nrl team that will bring joy to 12 to 17 million people because the players will earn more than the locals

That’s literally every nrl team except the roosters

Cmon Pipps that’s dumb argument

Even in Australia. the players get paid many times the average wage for essentially running into each other for 80 minutes and trying to place a ball over a line …. Many people( even the poor) seem to like it though and want to watch it live or in their homes …. So why should we deprive PNG people of that ?

I think it is a worthy point and the club (PNG Chiefs) and players should try to be seen to be very big advocates for the betterment of PNG itself.
They could and should do a lot of charity and also talk some politics and know the history of how PNG people helped save our bacon.

Good point

Someone else said it on here this team will bring economic benefit for Port Moresby via tourism

It’s giving local kids a chance to make good money too that shouldn’t be forgotten

And will encourage kids to stay in school so they can play league

The money the players are being paid comes from the nrl anyway

How much tourism is it going to attract because they will have a rugby league team?

This is not just in sports PNG.
The Company I work for currently rent an apartment for my Australian Boss currently at the Airways too.
We pay PNGK28k a month for him. My own rent is currently PGK5k.
But me and everyone at the Company are not jealous of him one bit for it.

I think Australia's overall standard of living is slightly better than PNG's. Not saying PNG shouldn't have a team, but I think PNG people have more important things to worry about.

Haven't heard of traveling fans?
Cities literally buy games for tourism boosts.
I have. How many Australians do you think will travel to PNG to watch their team?

We have issues in Sydney where some teams supporters won't get out of their local council area but there will be hoards travelling thousands of kms and paying thousands of $ to go to PNG to boost their economy.

Nrl team will not only bring joy and pride for the people of png

It will showcase Port Moresby and png to Australian tv viewers and the world and show it can be a part of the world economy and further foreign investment

Every time the nswrl expanded it was to the poorest parts of Sydney which at the time were rural and then decades later the club grew with the population

Stars all over the world earn more than average people, they remain stars and often the only joy that poor people can enjoy.
Papua new Guineans may be poor but they have an NRL team .

Strange argument that they should have a shit team because they are poor.. that's equality?

Australians love to travel! Actually one of the biggest traveling population in the world! Bali , a short flight from Australia and a 3rd world country receives millions of visitors from Australia every year.
Half of Australia is Rugby league territory and if PNG gets it's act together, at least around port Mosby. Australians could be enticed by another tropical getaway a short flight away because of the added novelty of getting to watch their favorite team on their trip.

It'll take time but eventually the stigma and fear will be removed, the CBD will transform and you yourself might even by enticed by a weekend away from a game of League, some culture and a fresh stamp on your passport.

I can definitely see myself doing it!!

I’m not sure of your point .., yes Australia has a higher standard of living and the average person in PNG has a tougher life …
So maybe they are in greater need of a team then ..to try to bring them some enjoyment?

I am not arguing whether PNG should or shouldn't have a team. If they can afford it
then great. Someone used the example that there are poor people in Australia just like in PNG so we have teams so why shouldn't they also in PNG. I just don't think you should be using what we have in Australia as an argument that PNG should have the same given the disparity between the countries.

It's not about wether or not it's PNG , New Zealand or Australia.
It's because it's an NRL team, the NRL standard doesn't recognize boundaries outside of the League.
